There is indeed a breakthrough: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-26987653 But some points here: not a 100% successful cure though 96% is much better than current situation, no long term assessment on possible drop of cancer rates in the long term and if does the treatment prevents further transmission or not is not proven yet.
