    Interesting. I've just returned from BLF an had an ok time - Darklands was MUCH better. The reason echoes some of the points you raised. At Snax on the Saturday night, aside for the usual disorganisation and chaos getting in, the door staff were just outright rude, turning people away with the vague excuse their 'outfits' weren't fetish, which I would agree with, but upon entry you see that half the guys in there are in basic underwear with a harness at a push and probably have no real interest in fetish and are just there for the fun/action. I won't be returning to Snax, a standard night at Lab outside of the major events is much better. Not only that, but in my recent visits to Snax, I've noticed the crowd is becoming younger and younger, which isn't to my taste. Berlin is too hung up on image and I'm noticing this more and more. I know some guys from Cologne who no longer visit Berlin for this reason. When we first discussed this some time ago, I didn't really take much notice to what they were saying - how that's changed! Berlin is more relaxed (door staff included) outside of the major events. Just something to consider.

    This is for the U.K based men on here. Does anyone remember the CG website? I would describe it as the precursor to Squirt but without the GPS/online function as the technology didn't exist during that time, which was around the late 90s. I'm a black, British guy and my experience is that race is a HUGE issue in all contexts and layers of American society that inevitably seeps into the attitudes and opinions of many in the dating/fuck pool. I have been told by white men while on dating apps and online when i've visIted the U.S that most white gay men simply don't like/find black men attractive, which is fine, but the interaction with many was eye opening and the warning proved correct in most cases. So while I think your environment can largely shape who you find attractive and many of us have preferences which isn't necessarily racist, it's your general interaction and attitude to men who don't look like you that is telling of whether your preference is rooted in racism or not. As an aside, I think sex pigs and fetish men have a far more positive and mature approach to this subject that the candy floss sites like Grindr etc. could learn from.

    If you've never been, by all means give it a go - just to tick the box if anything. As someone who's been many times and currently uses the area as a go to due to venues being closed, Hampstead Heath can pose a few problems that may hinder your enjoyment. 1) It can be TOO dark in the evening, so much so that you can't see your own hand in front of your face in the areas where most of the cruisers gather. If you're a certified cum dump, then get stuck in, but if you're like me and like to be a bit more discerning with potential play mates, then this problem can often result in a sexless night. 2) Exhibitionism and group play kind of go hand in hand with cruising grounds, but I feel HH is one place where people will join in uninvited wherever they see guys playing even when it's clear an invite hasn't been given. 3) Drug use is prolific, more so than other cruising grounds I've used. I'm just waiting for venues to reopen so I don't need to rely on cruising grounds, which can be fun when used occasionally, but as the main outlet for sex, it's wearing thin quickly.
