what for you counts and what doesn't?
First, thanks for that most interesting subject/question.
The very word - "virginity" - implies a physical state of no experience of having sex with another person. But, the next question would/should be, what do you want your experience to be? Or if the subject is young, have you even considered that there are options? Your answer is spot on, in that there is now "connection" between the partners unless there is desire on both sides. If a guy who knows (or even thinks) he wants other guys, caves to the pressure and marries traditionally, would that count for "losing his virginity"? I would vote np, since his experience did satisfy what he knew he needs, and got something else instead.
On the other hand, if a straight kid to jacks off with a buddy, is that to be considered "gay" sex? I would say no, in that two kids exploring what their bodies can do in no way implies anything more than a couple of curious kids exploring what their capabilities are. The interesting question would then arise: did one of the two kids experience something "more" than just jerking off?
Your lovely description of your first "proper' time is evocative of a young man, formerly unaware, becoming acutely aware of one of his important needs, regardless of the condom. That experience spoke volumes to you, and that expression of your sexuality became an important facet (meaning, a part - not the whole) of your sexuality. It allowed you to understand that hard raw Cock fucking your hole was also an important facet of your sexuality. I'd call that the most fortunate event of your budding sexuality, since you're able to "connect" with other men in either position. Some of us can't say that.
Of course, the virginity question is the type that any answer will fill, since generally it's the first time we actually "feel" - "experience" that meeting of the souls, via our cocks/holes since the term "virginity" has more meanings than merely the common one. Loosing our "virginity" is when we first feel that huge rush, the enormous thrill, the life-changing sexual cataclysm of having an emotional response - not simply a physical one.
Thanks for that excellent post.

My religious are bringing
Many of us have endured that experience. What it involves is, asking question of ourselves: "What is more important to me? To gain some measure of acceptance from a group of people I see once a week?"
Or maybe that answer might be "I most need to become the man I want/need to become, and I'll take from religion what I need to accomplish that, and leave behind what inhibits my personal growth. "Do unto others what you would have them do unto you", all the beneficial things are fine. What isn't fine, is restricting our personhood to suit someone else; that's nothing but a recipe for misery.
I would have a hard time accepting that any one cultural tradition can outweigh the above; particularly since there are so many religious traditions competing for our acceptance. I certainly couldn't in my own life, and I simply don't believe in some pie-in-the-sky if we only surrender our truth to a cultural group of people with interests other than ours.

Thanks for sharing this most interesting resource. It's a rainy, blah Sunday afternoon, and I finally took the time to listen - and found it well-reasoned, informative, and not totally "wonky". I haven't listened to them all yet, but I'll get there. I also look forward to some of the others, based on different subject-matter. Again, thanks !!

To clarify, it's usually not an entirely anonymous situation
Ahhhhhhh .... then I understand better. The scene (as I initially read it) wouldn't get any guy very far in most fuckjoints. I was imagining that scene in a place like Slammer - and a "bossy bottom" wouldn't get very far - at all.
Breeding with friends / acquaintances would be exponentially different - friends/buddies sating each other's lusts with a base-line of mutual friendship is a whore-se of an entirely different color. Thanks for that explanation.

One easy answer to the problem, would be Tops simply avoiding him in the first place ..... or withdrawing when that issue rears it's homely head.
We Tops aren't that far away - we can hear it too.

Interesting .... Do you get an invitation (from the Top) first? Or just start the "directing/coaching" without waiting for one?

Same fears though
Since you're on PrEP, (and likely Pep), likely tested regularly, you've taken all the available steps to avoid those issues.
The issue you're facing is one of Trust. Are you able to trust your friends, family, whoever? Is the ability to "trust" the issue? The use of restraints is something that needs to be "negotiated" in advance of the scene, and if you don't trust the guy when you're having a discussion in some non-sexual place (like a lunch-spot, sitting on a park bench, whatever), chances are poor you'll suddenly find that ability when both your cocks are hard.
The point is to establish some level of trust as you spend a bit of time with him, before the hookup. If that seems unlikely, I'd suggest you demur with the best excuse you can come up with. Wait until you're ready to jump in with both feet.

think not seeing who is inloading in me requires a certain trust and puts me out of my comfort zone
I don't think that's unwarranted at all.
Lots of guys have experienced some kind of negative event when they're in a fuckjoint taking loads. Frankly, it's guys like me that hold all the cards, which also implies a certain level of responsibility one brings to the fuckjoint. There are certain responsibilities Tops have that bottoms don't. Tops need to behave responsibly - eat their Hole, fuck them beautifully, and find something supportive to say (if any words are exchanged).
There are a lot of Tops who think with their cocks, and we all know that hard cocks have no sense in the first place.

Interestingly, the PM of Israel has just visited the White House, and not a whisper in the major media about what transpired.
I know Hamas is / was demanding their usual, and Netanyahu was still stirring that pot, but oddly, nothing is being reported. Was it a wasted opportunity? Or are there some nasty surprises up someone's sleeve(s) .....
-
I know this kind of mating ritual isn't available everywhere, but that doesn't mean guys can't aspire to deepening their sexual acts to match their lusts. Reading these responses only makes a guy all the hornier to get out there and jump into the pool of writhing, breeding men.
To those who live in more restrictive areas, it might be up to you to advance the possibilities for other, more repressed rawmen. If you can possibly manage it, why not start a group of men dedicated to pigsex in your area? Start small - maybe a handful of guys - word will spread, and more will turn up. Tell the attendee's to tell other guys they know. Once we taste the sweetness of sating our lusts (however temporarily), the impetus is already there. For men like us, there's hardly a bigger thrill than sharing ourselves with those just like us.
Nothing comes of nothing, right? Why not try it?

Congratulations, Watch-me-share-me.
I'd say you're among the most fortunate of cumdumps, in that you found (or were found) by a man that sensed your craving, realized who and what you really are, and simply made it possible for you to become that man. Many have to work much harder to figure out how to make their dreams come true. I would add that the implied connection to a religious belief-system is common for many men, but when push comes to shove, the opaqueness of those strictures becomes apparent easily, once we apply our serious thought to the issue.
I hope you've thanked that Man who freed you from your inhibitions many times, both verbally and in more thrilling ways as well.

I was surprised and disappointed when grandpa Joe said "yes" for a second term
As was I. I have come to believe that Jill (and other family members, perhaps) was most responsible for pushing her husband to run for a second term. More, I think it was out of her love for him, that she couldn't accept what was so clear to others. But, it happened, that page has been turned now, and I don't disparage what she did out of love for her husband. Sadly, I'm no stranger to enduring the intellectual / physical decline of a loved one from that hellish malady; it's the worst nightmare possible.
I don't have enemies, but if I did, I would never wish that tragedy on anyone, for any reason.

whether Elon and his networks enabled a loophole
An interesting hypothesis, and it hadn't occurred to me. Other than his uncountable wealth, we really don't know that much about him. I am still thanking friends in WI for handing him that solid defeat, but I don't really know that much about him either.
I am, however, looking forward to his attempt to start a replacement political party for the R's, now that they're steeping in total, abject shame. All that's happened so far is the announcement of forming a new political party, and if money can do that, he'll get his new political party. Interestingly, he seems to sense that the Congressional R's have shamed themselves so clearly, so deeply, almost the entirety of the R's in the Senate, that they seem merely opaque shadows of human beings, politically-speaking.

(force?)
We part ways on that particular issue. Nations - even great ones - fade when a sizable portion of citizens of a Republic turn away from paying attention to the things that matter, either by sheer laziness in civic duty, or malign intentions.
I can't imagine a way to "force" citizens of any nation to pay attention, care, when a majority of those citizens have lost interest in working towards that "More Perfect Union". It seems that everyone that doesn't quite fit the "ideal" is being denigrated, from those imported centuries ago as "property" to refugees from extreme poverty or denigration elsewhere in the world, on and on. Worse, when those citizens no longer care who sits in the White House, pandering to their fears and insecurities.
I suppose the most appropriate phrase would be We're at a Crossroads. And, that outcome can only be decided by the citizens, (discounting an actual coup). Cleverly, the Administration has covered the worst of their tracks by commencing the most egregious repressions until after the midterms, thus appearing (to those not paying attention) that nothing all that disgusting is scheduled to take place until it's themselves that feel the boot of repression crushing their balls.
(one last thing: I would have been stunned had you done otherwise)

who among us would have actually chosen either of those selections?
Well, some of us did. She possess impeccable credentials, experience, intelligence, particularly compared to what she was running against. If her only "negative" possession was being a woman of color, and thus denied votes, then our country is in deeper trouble then we think. Her opponent possessed none of these attributes, "claiming" (read: lying about) all kinds of pseudo-impressive accomplishments, none of which has proven true. Insolvency, failure at numerous businesses, an obnoxious temperament, pandering to the populations unworthy fears instead of offering sound proposals beneficial to all citizens. Remarkably, many didn't even "bother" to vote at all. And, you're correct: any successful candidate for President must include the needs of all citizens, not merely of their own political party.
3 hours ago, tallslenderguy said:i don't think most Americans have much of a clue about what is in a 1000 page bill
How could we? The great percentage of that unholy mess of a bill wasn't even read by most of our Representatives/Congressperson. And that is the fault of the media. Ever slow-to-learn, most Americans are too busy with their day-to-day responsibilities to study proposed bills in Congress. I would guess that there are enough Congresspersons who didn't read the entire bill (which is their damn job) to sink a ship. Plus, most Americans expect that their Congresspersons will actually do their jobs - before it it too late. That's been the expectation for 249 years, and has served us well. But this is a different day now. Giving the insanely-wealthy such inordinate monetary rewards is nothing short of an arrestable offence.
3 hours ago, tallslenderguy said:To me, it comes down to trust
I agree. It used to be a valid assumption that we could trust those who we elect to Congress. Clearly, one of the parties has clearly been fucked into abject compliance with the Hater in Chief, to the point that care was taken in the voting process to make sure it would pass, so that a handful could vote "no" - assumedly an effort to help their re-election efforts. All the while, Goebbels was yammering on their cellphones, threatening this, that, and the next thing. Apparently, we citizens have made their jobs in Congress a little bit too cushy. If there's one lesson to be learned by the American Voters, it's trust no one.

To some extent, maybe our challenge is recognizing where the insane genius gets his power
I would say to a great extent; the more obvious it becomes, the easier to counter it. Pandering to the fears, anxieties of those citizens that have been less successful is easy as can be. It's inspiring them to a more productive thought-process, introducing programs to assist them, rather than push them even farther down would be far more humane than stirring the pots of hatreds. Yet, the clever conmen have always managed to figure out how to demean others, and thus seemingly make themselves attractive to the less-advantaged. Apparently, some more clever folks in the Administration have taught His Nibs that lesson: the most disadvantageous aspects of the Big Bullshit Bill won't even take effect until after the midterms. Clever, craven, and crass.
4 hours ago, PozBearWI said:It feels like we need fact checkers to check the fact checkers to check the "media" and help us slough off the crap to help us focus...
I agree .... and here we are. This is why I enjoy BZ so much: we get to express our ideas, exchange viewpoints, consider and re-consider issues of the day. My only wish is, one day the subject of Government-studies will be re-introduced into our public schools. It's inexcusable that there aren't any required courses in that subject these days. It used to be called Civics, but that or any other name would be a huge investment in some measure of awareness in the general population.
To the "Where is Cronkite" issue, where indeed is his bequeathment to the current crop of tv "personalities"? Look only to the current Cabinet the President has chosen to run the country. Dullards, drunks, whoremongers, insipid fools - to enure that none of them outshine His Nibs, scrambling only to earn his favor instead of offering him one scintilla of "wisdom". One could enlarge that conundrum to the Republikans in Congress as well. Yes-men/women to a one. Cowards, concerned only with ensuring the Presidential Mouth doesn't go after themselves.
5 hours ago, PozBearWI said:we need fact checkers to check the fact checkers to check the "media" and help us slough off the crap
Or, more plainly put, honest, well-reasoned women and men. Some of the major media is more honest than others, but we're in a "truth-desert" these days. BUT - we get to come here to BZ to discuss and share with others, so that's at least something.

I think somehow we actually are related .....
Not the day after the night before, but not too long after either. Sometimes I have to fold up a paper towel, put it where it doesn't belong, just to maintain some semblance of decency when I have to run an errand or whatever .... the cockdrool is like a faucet left to run.
