People need to hear more stories like that - they get the idea that using condoms means they won't get HIV, when in fact it only reduces 90-95% of the risk. The 5-10% risk can still result in the guy becoming poz.

From what I can gather from the comments he replied to, he knew that the condom broke or was at least fairly certain at the time. That would've given him a chance to try PEP, but now that's clearly a moot point.

Not uncommon to underplay the risk. Condom broke, but if i am 21 still invincible. Not at all difficult to understand...

I didn't really want to read through the Q&A. In his original post he implys it was a safe encounter; however, if he mentions in the Q&A that he was aware the rubber broke or feared @ the time that it had, then how can he say that he is sure it was "safe?" Condoms aren't a golden ticket to clean and disease free sex: they are uncomfortable, they are a mood kill, a waste of resources and money, and sometimes don't work to protect you... so fuck it- raw.
