I have voted on this topic a while ago. I converted by choice at the age of 19. It’s now like a tatoo. It’s just a part of me. A few days ago I was getting bred by a sickly old guy (my type) and when he was getting close I said please breed me. He instinctively said you want to get bred and knocked up? We both knew what he meant. My pussy started to milk his cock like it was the last ever. While cleaning his cock after I could not stop thanking him. It was such a mutual respect.

You sound like how I was, conversation by choice and I like the same type of loads

Overall I don't mind the fact that I am poz but low-key it bothers me because of the area I live in. People still live in fear and misinformation which results in a lot of shitty experiences for me and it being at the forefront of my mind a lot. If I lived in a well-educated urban area and didn't have to deal with the stupidity I would be perfectly cool with it because it would be a non-issue.

I'm not poz yet but when a Top tells me he's poz it totally enhance the whole climax and feels so awesome compared to normie gay play.

Guess what’s in PrEP, sports fans.

Yep. Tenofovir. So you can’t just pop it and forget it. You have to keep tabs on your kidney function, and some medications, like Metformin, can react with Tenofovir to exacerbate the issue if there is one. (Guess who’s also taking Metformin. Ain’t life just a fucking bowl of cherries?)

There are those, including medical professionals, who believe Metformin is a fairly solid and benign drug for treating Type-2 diabetes, or for those who are on the cusp. Now my disclaimer is that I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.

Last year, my A1C level tested slightly above range, so my ex-doctor (there's a reason why he's "ex", we're getting to that) put me on the lower dosage to see the effects. Of course my glucose readings came dead back into a decent range, but I could enumerate the list of possible side effects and I certainly had most of them. Advised my GP of the outcome and we agreed to chuck the remainder immediately. I also chucked him and went back to my former doctor who subsequently asked "why in Hell did he put you on Metformin?" (Because my former-now-current doctor wasn't taking my health plan, so I got the few who would take my sketchy coverage until I could change it).

Moral of this story: Nothing is 100% 'benign'. Your mileage may vary. And be sure to check contraindications for any drug you're taking.

Being poz is ok, but has its downsides definitely. The few times I tried using a condom, I had difficulty maintaining an erection, so  saved money in one aspect. I love fucking guys and I found guys who were poz were much more adventurous and fun. since I hated condoms, as both a top and occasional bottom, I was always prepared for the diagnosis. After becoming poz, I can’t really say I was anymore slutty than before because I was already a slut. Living in NYC at the time, sex was always plentiful.

One of the downsides for me, especially after I relocated to the Oklahoma, has been the negative reactions from some of the others in the community. Than you have the chasers who think nothing of asking me to discount my meds so they can get infected. If I was in some sort relationship with them I might consider it. For a stranger, my health is more of a concern.

Another downside is dealing with the medication aspect. After 25 years, it has become habit to take my meds before bed. It’s more the cost and availability. I am still on older meds, so generics are available. Because they are relatively inexpensive, compared to the new drugs, they are also harder to fill because there is less profit.

I used to freak every time I got sick, thinking I might have a hard time recovering. After having West Nile many years ago, and Covid a few years ago, I don’t freak out as much.

Even with scientific evidence that U=U is legitimate, some guys in my area will choose a guy who tested negative 8 months ago over my recent undetectable lab results (even guys who claim to be on PrEP).

I'm just curious - on a day-to-day basis, do you like being poz or not like it? In other words, do the pros outweigh the cons or vice versa? On the plus side, the sex is probably better, but then all the medical stuff can be a hassle...

I am on one pill a day and am quite healthy. Good care, been exposed to COVID and pneumonias and not gotten sick from either.  I chased this for 10 years and I have no regrets, I actually love being poz.

Being Poz has certainly liberated me to enjoy sex more. Subsequently contracting hep c was devastating. I am reminded there are other nasties out there.

previously I was posted to work overseas and had to travel to nearby Thailand to get my meds paying full price. During covid when there were no flights, my meds supply got low and this was scary.
i think there is still a lot of ignorance and prejudice against hiv, including the gay community. I don’t randomly disclose my status.
