Scottyrim Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 This is more for the oldies amongst us I suppose. At 47 I really had most of my early sex life under the cloud of HIV and the only sort of sex was safe. I think I knew I hated condoms, but the idea of someone not using them I thought was insane. Then one day in late 99 I think I saw photos of men in porn not using them. I thought at first they were early 80s photos or touched up, but then I heard about the term bareback and I never could imagine anything else. I just wondered how some of you guys felt and what you felt?
Moderators drscorpio Posted June 14, 2015 Moderators Report Posted June 14, 2015 I had already been doing it for a few years before I heard the term the first time. Like you I started out having sex in the pre-AIDS/pre-condom era. Around 1985, the safe sex message had permeated the environment enough for me to start using condoms in all sex. Within a couple of years, guys stopped worrying about them for oral because latex is nasty in your mouth. I got topped bare for the first time again in 1992 - it was Easter Sunday actually . After that first guy talked me into fucking bare again, I started talking tops into fucking me bare and loading me up. Fortunately, this was not hard to do. I moved to a new smaller town that fall. At first I went back to condoms because I didn't want a reputation in a small town. But soon I found that guys here wanted to go bare, too. In fact for a lot of these small town queers, safer sex messages had never really taken hold. By the time I heard the term "bareback" for the first time, I had been using condoms only on the rare occasion that the other guy insisted for years. I had not used a condom at all since 1995 or so. My thought was basically "thank goodness the rest of you are catching on." My feelings were essentially relief and excitement. 1
averageslut48 Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 I had always bare sex in my whole life. Started at the age of 13 in the pre-Aids- time. Was in fear, when the issue came up. But could never resist a bare cock and its load.
FatFuckPigMA Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 I didn't learn the term bareback (in this context) till around 1993/1994 on the Boston phone sex lines (550-PIGG). I was trying to hookup with some top and I said specifically that I wanted hm to fuck and cum in me without a rubber. He said "You mean ''barebacking'". I was so grateful that there was a short hand for it! f course, by then I had been already been getting barebacked for a few years at the last remaining porn theaters in Boston's once infamous Combat Zone. I guess the vocabulary had to catch up to me. Still, it took a couple more years for it to become common usage within the gay community. Trust me, I had to define it for quite a few. Some even even got personal demonstrations.
BiAggieGuy Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 I've always fucked bare since my first time in high school, but never really thought about "bareback" as anything special until I got into porn. That's when I realized people saw raw sex differently, from a taboo, to a fetish, to just how it should be.
Guest ff-whole Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) Almost always had bare sex with the women in the early stages... Thank G... my sperm wasn't wort much... No kids... And later with men, I felt always as a bottom that it wasn't all that great with a rubber... So if the guy wanted to leave it off, it was fine with me. Again I must have been lucky... still negative and no STD's. Didn't hear about "Bare back sex" much later on... and already was doing it. Edited June 14, 2015 by ff-whole
hungry_hole Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 I first heard about bareback mid 90's in, I think, a Yahoo Group that showed a hole leaking cum.
evilqueerpig Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 For me, skin on skin was and still is the only way for queer men to fuck. The term "bareback" came into use when HIV/AIDS reared its head, to differentiate it from socalled safe sex. I say, "If it ain't bareback, it ain't fuckin...and it ain't happenin!"
cam1972 Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I first heard the term in 2007. I was a little behind the times. Met a guy for a hook up. Asked if I wanted to bareback. Once he said what it was, we barebacked and I never went back. Have no intentions of going back. 3
rawcok4eva Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Sometime in the late 90s and found the notion immediately appealing. I was barebacking then, but in the confines of a mostly monogamous relationship. I went on to take my first poz cock in 2001 and haven't looked back since. 1
Guest faggot hole Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 i was 11 years old. i learned it from my father, who was fucking me. Indeed, for the first few years of my sexual life, the only knd of sex i knew was bareback. i didn't learn that there was a name for it ("barebacking") until i was in college when i was shocked to learn that there was any other way to be fucked but raw.
Guest iJoey Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 I always tried to fuck pussy raw in college. I was not always successful. Every time i fucked I tried to do it raw. It wasn't until my first time letting a man fuck me raw did my world open up. He was my first and he told me he only fucked raw. I was hooked and soon after that I found Bugshare.net.
Bttm2go Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 I didn't hear about it, just did it. First got fucked when I was 11 so I had no idea what a condom was. It was with my 12 year old best friend. Loved it ever since.
cannero Posted June 19, 2015 Report Posted June 19, 2015 I was on a work training course about 15 years ago for gay equality or something and a discussion started about "barebacking" and I was confused for a bit thinking about horse riding. Some of the guys were quite preachy (understandable dependent on their life history), but I got a bit of a boner. There is something about the phrase (along with skin on skin) which captures the experience wonderfully. Of course I didn't put my hand up and say "I do that with all the truckers on the edge of town" 1 2

Some of the guys were quite preachy (understandable dependent on their life history), but I got a bit of a boner. There is something about the phrase (along with skin on skin) which captures the experience wonderfully. Of course I didn't put my hand up and say "I do that with all the truckers on the edge of town" I know the risks involved. Obviously. But... I love how even gay men who say we shouldn't be judged feel so free to judge those of us who bareback. Straight people have unprotected sex. If we are equal, shouldn't we be able to? I know I am going off topic a little bit... But this comment just opened the door for me a little. I love (sarcasm) when I see a guy post a barebacking pic or gif on tumblr and then gives a PSA about how we should not bareback. I've seen one who goes so far as to say "even in a relationship"...... Really?? He posts hot pics and gifs but after seeing it a few times, I unfollowed. I'm there to enjoy, not be given a lesson and made to feel like I'm somehow less than those that practice safe sex. I rode horse bareback on the farm growing up. (Get your mind out of the gutter, pervs ) Gotta say I love this kind of barebacking much more. 1
