@PozToxVersPig I love the idea of profile pics being date stamped when post them

that of course would not solve the problem of people posting 3 or 5 year old photos, but would let you know that they were posted 2 or 3 years ago (possibly making the photos now 8 to 10 years old now) And then - in addition to letting other guys know they are old ….. would be a good reminder, if we looked at our own profile, That we need to update our photos.

I'm sure I've posted it on this thread before, but the hookup apps work best in the exact same cities that have great in person cruising spots. I benefit from the hookup apps when I travel, both conventionally and looking for posts that I'll be at such and such a location at 10 pm taking or giving loads. Several of the apps also show cruising spots and even how many users have been there, I find the Sniffies Places pretty useful, while not as easy to use as the old version of Squirt was it is in many ways more useful, I can move the map to the place I'm traveling to, click search this area, and limit the search to Places and Groups, the week before I travel and get a decent idea where the cruising spots are and to some extent see what kind of profiles are checking in at and posting what they are looking for at those spots to determine which ones I'm best suited for, and if I have a paid membership, (most of the time I don't) I may contact a group host and try to get an invite before I arrive, if there is a particularly appealing orgy happening while I will be there. It even works well in smaller cities at least in the Midwest and Southwest.

Thanks, WorkJack, for that hypothesis.  It makes sense to me too.  Nothing productive comes from guys sitting in their homes, typing into some contrivance that keeps us from being with others like ourselves.  Sounds like that which at one time brought us together, is now doing the opposite.

It's the business model of the business that take over the apps to blame. Get a bunch of users, to gain majority use over other apps. Then muck about with what features of the app are free or paid to extract maximum money.

Actually, back when I was using the cruise apps, I don't recall actually paying for them.  Maybe I did - maybe I didn't - just don't recall.  I do remember some of the guys I fucked using those apps though.  Fun times !!!

Chicago perfer within 3 miles. NYC might not leave the building. LA more likely to drive to a house with atmosphere and like-minded.

I LOVE this history - @BREEDmeRAW - I don't think a lot of people know that the "RT" in BBRT stands for "real time."  And back then it worked, really well.  I just found one of my profile photos from back then and can't believe I put it out there 🙂 Was Kenboi's name Ken - I believe I knew him and a bunch of all the people that were in his tribe...

@BREEDmeRAW - I think some hybrid of profile discovery + requirement for ads to be seen in main areas like BBRT used to be would work.  If you're online, and doing anything but browsing, state your intent.

I think one other thing that has changed is when you went online then, to those sites, you still felt a risk your anonymity wouldn't be maintained so random people just exploring were fewer compared to people just looking to fuck.  People barely knew how to have A email address, versus multiple.  Now, anyone who is curious is in.

Coming from Seattle, many of the original investors in Manhunt were Microsoft folks and so we had a really weird early view of all of this developing.

I have found a great many men on apps or even some web sites are flakes. They talk a game of wanting to meet but either ghost or have an excuse for not meeting. I find a much better chance just showing up at a sauna or adult theater/bookstore for a hook up.
