The British Columbia (NDP/Green) Government has decided to make PrEP available at no cost to those at risk of contracting HIV, assuming they don't wish to contract HIV.

(That's a far cry from $34 per tablet at Shoppers Drugs.)

Your doctor must call the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS at (604) 806-8515 to have them fax him/her your enrolment form for the PrEP Program. The source of funding for this is convoluted, so I guess the way to get the medication must also be convoluted.

I hear other provinces already have this or are planning to get it.
