I'm running into this too as I got a lot of hookups off of CL. I looked at backpages but you have to put your cell in there, so now I need to get a burner phone just for that purpose. Plus here in Dallas the majority of guys there aren't my flavor and quite a few are hustlers and escorts. The other places like Eros don't have many ads. I've pretty much gone back to sites like TDS, MYLOL, Squirt, BBRT and apps like Grindr, Hornet, and such. I've been doing more old style cruising of bathrooms at places I know and trust. Picked up a guy at the bathrooms at Northpark yesterday, been cruising the bathrooms at SMU, and the Katy Trail too,,,thankfully the weathers been nice. But this sucks...has probably cut the number of guys I've hooked up with in half the past week. Find I'm emailing past hookups to see if they want another go.

That's odd, looks the same to me....

Xtube has not changed.  What's that got to do with Craigslist anyway?

There are apps that you can download on your current phone that will give you a burner number.  Or if you have gmail signup for a Google voice account and get a number through them.

Just use google voice and attach the voice number to your phone.

It won't last long, Craigslist just has to cover there ass in reguards to the posts on it's site. Will most likey consist of a page verifying that you are not soliciting for sex in exchange for money or other escorting services. Also the law is unjust to the platform since they have no control over what you post, but they may have to monitor more closely which might mean a fee going forward in the future.

It will. The law is worse than you think. The law makes them liable (jail time) if people use the website for sex for money even if CL tries to moderate it or have a verification page.

Democrats and Republicans all voted for it, except two. CL will just be the first of many to shut down. It's bad.

Saw a message -with reference to the CL shut down- that Cruisingforsex.com continues, including men4sexnow.com.

There's not much on it for where I am now but I used those sites a lot back in the day when I was working in the US years ago. Got some nice encounters from it. Maybe that's an option for you guys in the US?

A person or entity can not be held responsible for the actions of another. This will be defeated rather easily, otherwise car manufacturers would be liable for what people driving there cars do with them. They (feds) can make a case for regulation under the commerce clause since many escourts conduct itra & interstate commercial activities, but that would just require a login to identify the seller and purchaser for the purpose of tax collection for an illegal activity.

The real money issue is, who wants to spend the money to fight this law, because it would need to travel up food chain before it's struck down.

I think the real issue is that sex work (other than brothels) is not taxed. If there was like an Uber for selling ass, then I bet it'd be left alone. Maybe all hook ups (gay and straight) should require a fee, something minimal like $10. If you had to pay, you probably would not flake. If a top paid for a bottom and the bottom flaked, the top gets all his money back and the bottom would lose the right to be on the platform if he flaked multiple times. If the top flakes, he loses all his money. If the bottom went through with it, he'd get some of the money. You'd be able to rate the hookup (only positively) so over time, people would know who the good ones were because they got more positive ratings. When's the IPO? LOL.

With that in mind, this bill is a bunch of partisan bullshit. Despite how much our legislators and president (ugh) love sex workers, they pose a significant threat to core "values" these legislators hold. I do believe sex trafficking is pure evil, but Craigslist shutting down their personals section is working proof that this law isn't a targeted solution. It's legal overreaching to kill multiple birds with a single stone. Maybe Craigslist really was a hub for sex trafficking and I never encountered an ad using the service to promote it, but I've seriously never seen a single ad that in any way indicates that pattern.

The concern is female prostitution and when they mention "human trafficking" they are really talking about "women trafficking". So many women are weak emotionally  and in the stupid search for a "boyfriend" that they are easily tricked into working for some guy who they think loves them (stupid women!). You could never do that with men! If someone tried it with boys instead of girls, well, good luck! Boys would learn the ropes in a day and would be on their own making their own money the next day.

There is no problem with male prostitution. So why not make only female prostitution illegal and allow men do be free with their bodies? Making prostitution illegal is in a sense an infringement of our human rights because we should be able to do whatever we want with our bodies...(the same argument as abortion). But the problem are those women who allow men to control them and obviously men would take advantage of those emotionally weak women.

I remember a time before CL when all there was were cards that were on a wall at adult theaters.

I didn't have a card, but wrote on many stalls: For a good time call .... and I left a different name if it was a department store, park or rest area, or college. That way I knew where they got my number.

At the Adult Bookstore I wrote for a good time call Molly.  For a better time ask for her brother Mark.  ???

In Canada we still have the personal section on Craigslist, but I just noticed the US govt has shut down Backpage, I use to use it to find an escort every once in a while. I wonder if the Canadian Back page will ever open again??
