Exactly that. When I grew up the image that society had of a gay man were two 'celebrities' on TV. Both flamboyant men with a limp wrist. They were well liked because they were extremely funny (and bitchy), but those projected an image in the mind of the general public that all gay men were like that. That image was only confirmed by very camp TV shows from the UK like "Are You Being Served?" where one of the most popular characters was a very effeminate store clerk (loved that show btw). Older guys from the UK will remember that show. These porn videos proved that wasn't so.  

To respond to someone else, I did see the French Cadinot films as well but they never did much for me because those were mostly about young boys having sexuals escapades. Same as the Czech movies which came much later. The porn I liked was proof that it wasn't always the skinny young guy that got fucked by butch guys but masculine men liked to take cock up their butt as well.

I think my dad Had a bigger part in shaping the pick would become. I know there is porn of me out there from when i was a kid.

Porn has fucked up a lot of people’s expectation of what is real and expected. It limits intimacy for a lot of people who then can’t really connect with another person.  You don’t have to be able to cum 5 times and fuck 10 holes in an hour to be a “good top” or an attractive person.
