In addition to the advice that others have given, I'd suggest checking whether there is an HIV prevention research site near you, and making contact. Participating in, or just finding out about, studies of potential new HIV and STI prevention methods can be empowering.

If you are having group sex, it is really important to be screened for Hep C. I got it in 2014 and it complicated my life significantly. There is a cure now, albeit expensive, which I gained access to via a clinical trial. Depending on where you live, insurers may refuse to cover the cost of treatment.

Ok, you are the person I need to talk to. I contracted HPV and do have visible warts. I'm using topical treatment but it is taking longer than expected to clear them up. I'd like to avoid getting them surgically removed. 

I want to be a bareback bottom. I want to convert as well. I have actually had guys who are poz turn me down once I've disclosed my status (I've never had any other STIs and testing shows I'm HIV negative.) I'm open to picking a Friday or Saturday night and offering myself to all cummers in a bath house. What advice do you have for me in my situation? You will get some STIs if you have enough sex but you've correctly singled out the chronic ones. I wouldn't worry as such about herpes just because so many people have it. In the general world population it's more than 1 in 10 people, amongst gay men it is probably even higher. You can and should get vaccinated against hepatitis A and hepatitis B (although in some places there's a shortage of one of those or the other - last time I checked in the UK they were short of A and in Spain they were short of B, I think) and in some places you can get vaccinated against HPV.  

The other infections can all be treated, the guideline is to get tested every 3 months. Because of window periods, getting tested more often than that is considered unnecessary unless you need to get tested for work reasons (so if you're a porn star or a prostitute)
