Vision and Sex

I’ve got a question for all of you sighted guys.

I’ve always read that men are visual when it comes to sex.  And, gay guys are even more visual.

As a blind guy, who truly wishes he could see another male body, watch men having sex or even just watch porn, why do so many of the guys on here, or in the community at large, want to fuck with a blindfold or in a darkroom?

How many of you enjoy seeing the man to whom you are giving your body, or see the one you are fucking?

No judgments asking this question.  It just baffles me.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I assume you're familiar with the concept of edging - when someone masturbates until he's close to orgasm, then stops until he's "backed down" from the edge of orgasm, then starts up again. Doing it to someone else is even more intense, especially if he's restrained in such a way that he has no control over the edging.

That's the closest thing I can come up with to describe one of the reasons darkrooms/blindfolds are so appealing to some people. With seeing comes control - if you can see the guy who's trying to fuck you in the dark, you might reject him. The darkness takes away that control, just like being edged by someone deprives you of control over your orgasm.

When you're in a dark room and you have no idea who's fucking, you also can imagine him to be anything you like. Once you see him, that illusion is shattered.

That's not to say that seeing is a bad thing. But sometimes NOT seeing is a hot alternative.

Hi my friend,

Long time no chat. I hope you are well.

Here are my thoughts on the question you posed. I haven't done blindfold scenes but I do absolutely love glory holes so maybe my comments might apply.

Although I love seeing a cock coming through a glory hole and proceeding to suck it to full hardness, the real thrill is standing up, turning around, and backing onto that cock. In fact, if the video booth or room is dark, so much the better. My mind races with the thoughts of what I could not see about this guy's cock - any signs of STDs that I might have missed, etc. And yes, I hope I did *not* notice anything and so (possibly) some infected cock is now going get me raw (I have a small tight body - even a smaller cock will stretch me and make me bleed a bit) and whatever this guy pumps into me is going to have easy access to my body.

I do love anon sex!

Be well,

J.

That's one side of the coin: you can't see the guy so you imagine it's your favourite crush.

The other side of the coin: getting off on really truly not knowing who it is or anything about them, what they look like, what they sound like...  no clues.

I'm 80% into the latter... and more so since attending some of the 'horsefair' type events where the bottom guys are blindfolded and hooded and never see the tops. It was very horny and strangely liberating experience.

I love Darkroom sex. Love the anonymous fucking obviously.

But in the dark, its like the unexpected build up. My other senses kick in better.

I love  to touch, to feel a body in the dark, my imagination and fantasies kick in deep which makes me horny.

I love the smell of men, not just sex, but the smell, the different smells of Man.

Tasting them, kissing in the dark, pubes, different tastes of Man.

I love Strange unseen Shadows, touching me, feeling me, entering me and imaging in thd dark, how I want them to look.

I love Men, everything about them, but I love how my other senses  kick in and work me.

Great Question.

For me sex is mostly about touch and sound. I have been fucked in a day-lit kitchen bent over the sink and I have been fucked in a dark bedroom laying on my stomach as he lay on top of me.  But what gets me hot and horny is the feeling of his hands gripping me. The feel of his skin against mine, his cum running down my skin... The sound of our breathing as we get closer to cumming, the hot sound of wet fucking and skin slapping skin...

I've never done a blindfold. I would if he wanted it, but I've never felt the urge to put one on myself. When I am fucking I lose all inhibitions when there is no fabric touching my body, I guess you could say when my body is free of the physical clothing, I am free of all restraint. Just thinking about a blindfold puts a small damper on that horny enthusiasm. It may sound strange because I can go wild on a cock in a pitch black room, so you'd think a blindfold would have the same affect, but for me it is a reminder of clothing. If he wants it though, I'd do it.

But to get back on topic, for me sex is a free, spontaneous act that can happen anywhere and preferably with no restraints. Restraints for me would be mental, in being told or my feeling that "the room needs to be dark", or "I/you need a blindfold".

Now, If you want to tie me up or handcuff me, well, that is a whole other restraint topic of hot kinky fun! Lights on or off, ... I don't need a blindfold or dark room to enjoy myself.

I've had sex in darkened areas of sex clubs and bard many times. I don't necessarily have to see the guy fully and clearly but i do want to feel his male form against my own body, even if he's one of  line of guys using me on a fuck bench. For this reason, I am not a glory hole fan. Yes I have my types that I like (fellow jocks, bears, twinks) but I exist to pleasure my fellow males regardless of body type. In many ways, sex in a darkened condition transcends the limits our vision places on us by allowing us to run off the touch of another male against our own body, his natural male scent given off by his pits and crotch, the taste of his mouth and his erect penis, the sound of grunting and moans of ecstasy as we mate like animals in heat.

Count me in FOR anon darkroom sex! I've written about regularly in my posts. I love to get down to the business of sex when any darkroom fills up with naked men ready to spill their seed!! Now to get that seed in mouth or ass, OR for me to blast in someone else that I can only feel, not necessarily see, because of the dim nature of darkrooms!

What I’m getting from the responses so far is, many guys in darkrooms prefer images from past experiences to enhance sex in the dark.

So, in essence, you are still visually oriented when it comes to sex, whether you see it that way or not.

I know how a male body feels, but have never “seen” one.  How many of you would be happy if you never saw another naked man, whether in person, a picture or a video?  Would you keep coming to this site if rawTOP removed all photos?

Keep replying, no matter your opinion.

Thanks again.

Sometimes I enjoy seeing the guy, other times I enjoy being blindfolded and not knowing at all who it is thats fucking me. Just depends on my mood for the day.

I haven't (unfortunately) participated in any darkrooms, glory holes or blindfolded multi-partner sex, so I can't comment on your question in that way.  However, I've been a fan of fuck stories ever since I was in Jr High and started stealing porn magazines from my friend's house.  They were straight magazines and yes, I initially took them for the pictures (I hadn't figured out I was gay yet), but I quickly found out that I liked reading stories and reader letters with bisexual themes.

Ever since then, if I'm alone and horny and need to stroke, I'll almost always go looking for a sex story to read to help get me off, even if (as usually happens) I pull up some photos to put next to it on the screen for additional 'inspiration'.  The difference between now and when I first started is that I've seen the light and hardly ever read bi stuff anymore.

With the stories I can imagine the characters any way that I want them to look in my mind.  How would that work if I were blind from birth and had never seen a cock or a hole in front of me to create a fantasy from?  I don't know..  I guess our OP will have to fill us in.

Even when I read stories though, I don't usually focus on conjuring up a picture-perfect image in my mind of the guys in the story.  For me, it's more about imagining what they're doing than imagining the specific facial features, hair color, etc.  I don't usually spend time trying to imaging that.  I would (and started to) give some examples of what I like to envision in the stories on this site, but this isn't the bugchasing section so I elected to delete that rather than get chastised for putting that kind of content in the wrong spot.  Suffice to say that when I read stories, I like to fantasize and envision certain (typically sex-related) things happening to or originating from, certain types of guys (usually on the younger end of the scale), and what gets me off isn't as much what the guy looks like, as what they're doing, and what their mindset is when they're doing it (or having it done to them).  Does that make me less 'visual' when it comes to sex, or does the fact that I usually like to pull up a photo beside the text (even if it has little or nothing to do with the story) mean that I am very 'visual'?  I'm not quite sure...

Does that help the OP in any way?

When I was a little boy, I loved going camping and being able to pee outside -- especially at night. I couldn't see the stream of piss or where it was landing, and sometimes it would land so softly on the grass that there would be no sound. With no visual references, I felt disembodied; feeling only a cool breeze on my exposed penis and the sensation of urine passing from my bladder. I found the experience oddly arousing.

Most people have a dominant sense through which they perceive the world and validate their experiences. If you place yourself in a situation where your dominant sense is muted, it allows you to focus on information gathered by your other senses and thereby gain new perspectives on your situation/surroundings.  Actors sometimes use this in sensory awareness training so they can more fully use all their senses in crafting a performance, and, it's something you can experience with almost anything (as long as it wouldn't cause a hazardous situation). So, for a sighted person, doing simple things like peeing in the dark or eating a meal blindfolded removes the distractions of sight and allows you to focus on what your other senses are telling you.  If you can't see, one of your other senses will be dominant, so temporarily muting that sense might give you an idea of what I'm talking about. And, you may have noticed a similar effect when a dominant sound is shut off allowing the background noises to emerge. This occurred in some places that had lock-downs during the pandemic. The absence of traffic and industrial noise allowed people hear natural sounds that have become hidden by constant sound pollution.

Anyway, back to sex. If you are a sighted person having sex in the dark, you reduce the distracting visual information which lets you focus on other aspects of the scene such as creating a hyper-awareness of the sensations of  penetration, fullness, and other pleasures of the experience.

If you do not have sight, it's understandable that you might be "baffled" by the draw since the experience of a darkroom is something that you would probably think of as "normal".

Your experience and perspective are a gift.

I had read many erotic stories with blindfold and darkroom narratives for years before I actually put myself in those situations.

One of the hottest memories is one night I when I was blowing this guy at Steamworks, back where they have that blow job arena/ramp thing. He was on the platform a metre above me and I had been deepthroating him for 20 min and my towel had fallen off while I was lost in his cock. I felt someone feeling up my ass, and I just let him explore without looking back to see him. He began to fuck my furry ass as I sucked the other dude and I was in heaven. I never looked back until after he'd pulled out with cum pouring down my leg. While it was happening, I made the decision for the first time to not look back and I waited until he'd gone to turn around.  I found there was an audience of a dozen guys that had gathered  watching.

I can't say fully why it is such a hot memory, but I think it's because of the unknown and the mystery of who it was, and because the top materialised without any action at all on my part. His initiative was hot too, but I think the reason it was especially thrilling was that because I had no visual of him my other senses were heightened.

For me, eye contact can be very erotic, but over all I think visual stimulation is secondary to the other sources of sexual pleasure: nerve endings, touch, texture, moisture, warmth, scent, moans, and taste.
