I was a hotel front desk clerk on evening and overnight shifts for several years.  I can tell you the biggest trick for walking into the hotel is attitude. Thanks for the response.  I'm at a bit of a disadvantage here, in that I don't know what a "Fraternity X bro vibe" is. 

As to the self-confidence thing, I will admit that - for better or worse - I cannot recall having been accused of lacking that particular quality.
