That’s not how it works. The host doesn’t become resistant to the medication, it’s the disease strain that’s resistant, and the bug that’s resistant is already resistant before it enters the host.

Thank you for saying this, because you're right.

Had this recently - although somehow unrelated to an STD - I was negative for them all.
It is unpleasant. Started off with a bad fever and a stinging in my balls when I came. Progressed to an extremely sore and very swollen right testicle - I was walking around like John Wayne. Cipro cleared it up.

Getting infected multiple times means you have more chances to draw the short straw and pick up a resistant strain, but it doesn’t change your body in some way that makes medicine ineffective.

Going untreated and walking around like a human petri dish does, however, allow the colonies of bacteria or viruses to multiply at will, creating an environment for the generation of mutation strains that may have resistant qualities. This is especially so in people who start treatment but are inconsistent with it or do not complete it, allowing the pathogens that survive exposure to the medication to reproduce. That means the bugs better equipped to shake off the meds pass on those qualities. That’s why it’s particularly important for people on ART to be meds-compliant.

Sorry that has “the way it worked for me”. I consider myself promiscuous, yet I have dodged the bullet, so to speak. However my infectious disease specialist has warned me if I continue to get infected I will run out of options. I have been in this same situation when it comes to to HIV meds. Sorry, I don’t agree with you. Eventually, you run out of options.

Either you are misunderstanding your ID specialist or he's giving you bad info. For bacterial infections, the host does not become resistant to treatment; as Eros noted, it's the bacteria that infects you which can become resistant. As long as you continue to contract strains that are treatable, AND you complete treatment every time, your infections should clear up.

BUT: if you continue to have sex while in treatment that isn't complete, you run the risk of infecting someone else with partially treated bacteria (and if they don't get treated, they have an infection which has already survived incomplete antibiotics). That infection could become resistant to common antibiotics and is then circulating in the same sexual pool you are.

And given the way things work, odds are you will eventually contract one of these STIs that is resistant to common drugs. It's not you that's become resistant; it's the infection. And simple odds dictate that having a great deal of unprotected sex increases your chances of hitting that jackpot eventually.

No, sorry you are wrong.  My doctor has given me the latest of information available via the CDC.  I have had a viral load of over 5 million (most never  seen by a living patient) and  I Had KS in th early 2000's.  I had two representatives from the CDC siit in my living room and ask me who I have slept with and where I have traveled outside the US.  Yes I saw an oncologist, and yes I am still alive today

I have completed ALL treatments as advised and I have not infected anyone else.   But I have NOT infected anyone else  because at the time I was too sick to get out of bed. I am not implying that you are stating that I should because what I have read from your previous posts, you are not exact  a  "Bug chaser". For that I am grateful.

I assure you that I behave responsibly.  I am in no way saying you encourage people to behave otherwise,  In face, I get the impressions that that kind of behavior you find abhorent.

I hope you and I can at least see "eye to eye".  You don't have to like me, but I think we can get along.....

That is not what I was saying. I do not think people should go untreated, and I don't think they should stay untreated.  Sorry if I mislead posters, but I think most people should get themselves as far as thy can from STD's.

I think a lot of the fear and confusion comes from how society has been shaped by religion (and other morality drivers). Sexual infections and diseases are not really that bad, as long as you get treatment. There are plenty of other diseases out there that are way more detrimental to your well being, but never get the stigma that STDs get.

The problem, from what i observe, starts with not getting tested. When you don't get tested, you wont get treatment, Esp with chlam, which can be asymptomatic, or hard to notice. When i made my decision to go full bareback, i took into consideration all the risks. And STIs are the main one. What i've found in this neck of woods is some guys rely on the trust factor. The common question would be "are you clean?". Which is a question i do not like to answer, because in as much as i get tested regularly, i also have sex with multiple people almost daily. I know lots of guys (esp married guys) who never get tested and rely on asking if you are clean. Its like avoiding responsibilty from the way i see it.

I've told ALL my regulars the risks associated with bareback with me, and they have understood, accepted and take their own precautions. That's what grown ups do. If you live the lifestyle that i live, having raw anon sex with multiple people, then you cannot expect to come out unscathed. Its like smoking for years and expecting to end up with good lungs. I've had pretty much all the STDs, managed to get treatment early for them except chlam which can be notorious to detect. Hence why regular testing is required. Won't really go into the nitty gritty of the medical stuff discussed in this thread, but if we were to look at STDs without the moral albatross that society has made common, we can see that they are normal diseases and require the same attention & care like any other diseases.

So yes, whilst i am not advocating for them, but they are NOT as bad as they are depicted. Regular testing, treatment and most importantly, responsbility and you should be fine.

I just googled it...  I wasn't aware that asymptomatic chlamydia was a thing.  I've never had it (as far as I know) and everyone I know who has apparently had symptoms similar to gonorrhea.  Anyway...  anyone who has questions about it, that's what I'd recommend...  google it and read a few articles from respected places and see what they say.

Well, I live in Ireland and here we order the auto test online, the tests arrive at your place, very discreet and we test ourselves with swabs (anal and throat), them send to the lab (free of charges). Was always in those situations that I found out I was + for chlamydia. I absolutely never felt really anything, if wasn’t the analysis I would not be able to know. However I remember that years ago, I had my cunt very wet and with a secretion smelling not nicely, apart from that, it was the real only thing that I can remember happening so differently on my body. I also always had my hole loaded also like that, so not uncomfortable as well. Indeed in the pharmacy when we will take the medications (2 pills to be taken for 5 days) many times the pharmacist shout one like “this is for chlamydia isn’t?” Like, he is super familiar with people going there to take that medication for treatment. Also my doctors says that is the most common ist in Europe. I would not worry so much about it.

I believe this is for extreme scenarios. Isn’t? Dick cannot turns purple quickly, I presume.

Nah, this is false. There is no "memory" in the body on bacterial infections. The bugs are changing, but you aren't.

Generally going to agree that they are usually treatable and a nuisance, but there are exceptions.

One of my friends contracted syphilis and within eight weeks (!) it had advanced to neurosyphilis. Usually this only happens after years and years of untreated infection, but in this case he was just super unlucky. He was in the hospital for weeks on IV antibiotics, trying to kill it off, and still has dizzy spells and headaches and other general weird things. I know it's rare, but it did happen. Made me rethink syphilis as "no big deal." Occasionally it is.

As I posted, I think @ellentonboy has misunderstood what his doctor is telling him.

got g & c several times.

For chlamydia - its nothing much, except i felt like (upon medication) when peeing im like peeing razer blades or could it be placebo effect?

For Gonorrhea - its a little nastier - when i get gono in my throat, it itches alot and keep extracting disgusting greenish phlegm,

I got gono on my dick, but it didnt drip much, barely noticeable. When i got gono in my arse, when i douche or poop - when i clean myself up, i could see some residue light yellowish

That said, i don't avoid them, even my fb are positive and recovering for g/c, i still fuck with them raw
