MANY Red States Now BLOCKED!

I am happy that I can still access this site via a proxy server in a different state.  I completely understand what's going on.  I'm not happy about it, but I understand it.

Agree with everyone that the US is rapidly becoming even more of a dumpster fire than it ever has been.

When I tried to access this site today using my Chrome browser, it redirected to MalePrime.com

It's saying that I'm located in Louisville KY, and I'm in downtown Indianapolis.  I'm accessing this site through a Tor vpn browser right now.  @rawTOP mentioned earlier in this thread you were going to recommend a vpn, so I'll wait  until you do to make something more permanent.

Man I fucking hate it here (US).

That's the issue I mentioned about regional ISPs using a pool of IP addresses across state lines. It's very possible (probable, even) that your ISP in Indianapolis has facilities in Louisville, and that's where the IP addresses are registered, so that's where it "looks" like you're from (based only on the IP address).

As I noted, my home ISP (Cox) has its DHCP address pool based in a city 60 miles west of here, serving at least another 80 miles or so to the east from where I am, or a radius of 140 miles. Since computers (unlike phones) typically don't have any GPS capabilities, you appear to be wherever your IP address is registered to.

They need to quit playing that they are the Almighty when most of them have skeletons in their closets !

That's the biggest issue!

I also have read many RIGID conservatives here on this website, trying to argue against progress/liberal positions but I really can't understand how someone could use a service like this, get excited for stories here (even the ones in the Backroom) and then voting for people who sign laws limiting sex freedom.

And my answer is what you said: skeletons in the closet.

We must keep in mind that it's not a matter of "right and left" political orientation, I personally know self-calling "leftists" who are TERF (trans excluding radical feminists) or homosexual men hating more fem-looking gay men, and so on...

The truth is CONTROL. Who vote for these law with the excuses of "children protection" knows that controlling people's sexuality means maintaining these politicians' own POWER for themselves! So, they tranquilly go out and do their own business, SECRETLY, in their home garage maybe. But other people must strictly behave!

I remember an episode some years ago.

You know Viktor Orbân, Hungarian president? That's one of Donald's friends -needless to specify which Donald.

One of Orbân's deputies, Szâjer - or whatever it's spelled, was caught by cops with 25 men, during a secretly organized parTy. That guy together with Orbân is (was?) one of most determined to have the Hungarian anti-LGBT laws approved, strict opponent of same-sex marriage, then he had a 25 men orgy with him involved!

So, I say, WTF...

Why the fuck couldn't this man live his life freely, with even 50 men if he wanted to, but without ruining others' lives with restrictive laws?

Those laws are a self-punishment? A form of envy? "If I suffered when I was young, others must suffer as well"...

Here in Europe the situation is scary, Orbân guides a parliament group who label themselves as sovereignists, there are so many fucked up minds inside! The President I describe in my fantasy stories is an angel, compared to them.

Ive noticed that despite my cell ip being in Chicago, IL, I get redirected. Can only visit while on wifi. Strange.

Again, just because your cell phone is *connecting* to a tower in Chicago doesn't mean that it's getting its *IP Address* from Chicago, or even from Illinois.

An internet service provider (which your cell phone company is, insofar as you can use it to access the internet) can distribute its infrastructure anywhere. For fast responsiveness, that infrastructure is (usually) distributed around the country, so that the ISP can determine where you're located and get the relevant IP address to bestow on your device fairly quickly. Given Chicago's proximity to the Indiana state line, it's very possible that your phone service provider's nearest DHCP server farm is in that state.

Conversely, when you're on WiFi, the ISP who provides the wired signal to  your facility (office, home, coffee shop, whatever) will provide you an IP address from ITS infrastructure, which may be somewhere else entirely.

Well said PozTalkAuthor !

I'm so scared, just yesterday I read a terrible news about Utah: approved law obliges school to PHYSICALLY DESTROY some books and, they aren't "porn" books at all! They talk about "non-traditional" love, different gender and equity in society, one even talks about a serodiscordant relationship between two teen boys...

It seems they even have a registry of banned books.

[self-censored hate speech] I'd better bite my fingers or I don't know what comes from there!

I hope people really start to protest, because books and Internet censorship is the introduction to totalitarism.

Not to seem ableist for what I say, but can people be so blind in their brain? Those powerful minorities are using children as an excuse to kill world's freedom.

I have sort of hope though, that this one of destroying/burning books has been kind of provoking behaviour, a fake news. But knowing Far Right's madness I fear it's true.

Needless to say what Far Right has done with olympic athlete Khelif.

Yep, totally understand that. However when checking the ip address details of the device, it confirms a Chicago location.

Which would be why I brought it up. 🙂

But that's for its IPv6 address only, which is (broadly speaking) still used mostly WITHIN a particular local network. One you leave that for the broader internet, only about 1/3 of total traffic is IPv6; the remainder is IPv4 (because if either end of the connection is IPv4 only, then the entire transmission is going to be IPv4).

It's very possible that your AT&T phone has an IPv6 server giving out addresses in Chicago (because there are so many, ISPs can deploy more stations with large blocks), but it still gets its IPv4 address from a legacy server over in Indiana. For that matter, the physical location named may simply be AT&T's name for all of its server farm in that region, even if the IPv4 addresses are registered to a facility in Indiana. Bottom line is, something in the AT&T system is telling the hosting software at BZ that your IP address is coming from a state that's blocked.

There are many geoIP data providers. There's no universal source for that data. You need to look at what MalePrime says your location is (see the screenshot a few messages up).

The other thing is… I see you're on IPv6. This site only uses IPv4. So that's not even the IP we're using - we're using a different one. You've used 4 different IPv4s in the past 2 weeks…

Screenshot 2024-08-15 at 1.48.32 PM.jpg

That's using BZ's internal geoIP lookup, which is NOT the same data source as what I use to do the redirects. But unless you've been traveling that's showing 4 different locations, 3 different states. But even Indiana wouldn't get you blocked since FSC got an injunction for that state. But the data provider I'm using may have put you somewhere else completely.

This is common with mobile providers - they move IPs all over the place and sometimes let you hold onto one as you move around. So it's significant that you're connecting via AT&T. You'd probably have fewer issues on something like cable-based wifi in your house.

A lot of you know that I had a stroke last year. That slowed me down a lot. Then in December I figured out I had mild to moderate case of Long Covid and that I had it for over a year (at that point - pushing 2 years now). It took me a while to be seen by specialists, get the diagnosis, and understand what I needed to do to get better. But that's happening now. The problem is (and why I'm mentioning it here) that sitting and working at my computer actually drains my energy reserves quite a bit, so I'm getting almost no programming done. I'm far better than I was 3 month ago, and starting to see signs that in the next few months computer work will be more possible. When that happens one of my first projects will be to upgrade that page on Male Prime that you see so that mobile users can basically say "your data is wrong, here let my device tell you my lat/long…" Then I'll figure out what state that is, and let you in and whitelist that Class C range for the following week. But first I need to get better…

As far as IPv6… geoIP lookups are even more difficult and unreliable for IPv6 than they are for IPv4. It's pretty safe to say everyone in a class C range is near each other, so if I have the location for one IP in the Class C, I can (fairly) safely assume the others are close by. But IPv6 is far more complicated. Let me try to break it down for you…

Your IPv6 is/was 2600:0387:000f:5b16:0:0:0:0002

The first 4 segments (2600:0387:000f:) are your "network address", the portion after that… well, it depends on how your ISP set things up. An entire company (or ISP) can all be on the same network address. From a legal compliance standpoint it's fairly safe to say that everyone at a particular network address is at least routed through a single location, but the laws don't specify how their routed, but rather the physical location of the user. AND there's no equivalent of a Class C. You have to know the location of each and every network address - and there are BILLIONS of them!
