DoxyPEP every time?

I’ve had DoxyPEP for 4 months now, and learning to use it in a way that seems appropriate to me I.e. that follows the instructions I’ve been given and that doesn’t overuse it. What has worked really well has been where I have sex on Friday-Sunday and I take the meds on Monday. That has naturally worked several times and occasionally I’ve gone out hunting for another hookup to make a three day stretch! What I’ve found most difficult in respect to aligning DoxyPEP use to higher risk sex is where I’ve just had a single sucking session with no cumming in my mouth. I realise I can get STIs from sucking (and have in the past) but haven’t bothered to take DoxyPEP. I worry that maybe I’m being too restrictive and perhaps I should take it every time. I wonder what guys that are more experienced with DoxyPEP think.

yup. since i do most of my multiple partner whoring on the WE i tend to just take one dose Sun night to cover the whole WE. going from guy to guy to guy during a group event seems like textbook sti spreading opportunity.

i find it best to take it before bed as taken in the am makes me nauseous and sometimes sick.

depending on the dude i might skip it after the odd 1on1. the instruction all but say "use your own judgement". what else would "when you suspect you've been exposed" mean?

I only use it for the 2 days after, which for me, would be Sat, Sun, & Mon - since usually I head out to the fuckjoints on Fri and Sat nights.  I've only started it a couple of months ago, and haven't noticed anything different "bodily-system" wise, and there's a different, non-related pill I have to take, so it's no big deal at all.  And, so far anyway, it's worked as advertised.

New study from January says DoxyPEP reduced chlamydia rates by 79% and syphilis rates by 80%. For gonorrhea, reduction in rates was 44% in the penis, 19% in the rectum, but did not reduce infection in the mouth/throat.

Yup, my gay doc prescribed DoxyPep for me (I am a real slut) a couple of years back after it was endorsed by the SF Health Department. No STI's (knock on wood) since then, even though I attend BB fuck parties monthly!!🍆💦🐷😛

I’ve been taking doxy-pep religiously for the last year. I still managed to get a case of chlamydia (anally) just recently. I wish it was closer to 100% . . .

I  have doxy prep but don't use it in all situations, mostly use it with non-regulars or 'sketchy' situations.

Aside from photosensitivity, the greatest threat to any antibiotic is the eventual resistance. Bacteria continually evolve and based upon the type of bacteria (gram + or gram -), doxy becomes less effective when used long-term. As an ER nurse, we are seeing changes to the usually syphilis regimen due to changes in the Trepinoma pallidum bacteria. Zithromax used to be a first line treatment. Studies are now showing it’s resistant to this drug. And doxy used to be given at 100 mg, twice a day for 7 days. This is now changed to 200 mg daily for 14 days supplemented with another antibiotic. Just be aware of the risks. I encourage everyone to continue to play and have fun. You only live once!

I've been using Doxy PEP and prep for about a year and a half. I test monthly and average 5-10 anon loads a month. 

To my suprise, and my gf delight, I haven't caught anything.

This has, however, turned me into a total whore cumdump and I'm now BB only and never refused a load. I'm also doing more chemsex and cruising. I want to test my defences to there limit, deep down hoping to get poz.

My supplier advises PReP every day (one pill), and Pep for only 3 days, one per day (after exposure).  So far, so good ... it's working for me. 

I am also - at this very moment - knocking on wood.

I'm not sure how much do your doctors prescribe? Mine prescribes12 tablets 100mg directions "take 2 after condomless sex..." It's plenty for me unfortunately, but is 12 in a 30 day period the typical amount? He gives me a bunch of refills and fill once a month maybe insurance would cover more? I've never tried sooner than 30 days, just curious.

A good friend of mine is pharmacist. He told me to wait 1-2 days until taking doxy. The virus has to „set“ in the system and than you can get rid of it with doxy. It works for me for 2 years now. Nothing. Nada. Doxy and his bro PreP are my gamechanger.

You mean the bacteria?

But good advice! I’m doing doxy now also since a year ago. Also nothing so far. Didn’t get any from my big binges and 10+ load nights into my ass which I used to always get 1-2 surprises from before.

Yes, you are right. It was originally developed against malaria. Funny that it isn‘t used by tourists in the rain-forest. But from us whores. Well, some are wet like the rain-forest.
