I suspect the language about it "not being safe" dates from when this system was first implemented and restricted direct access from IP addresses in countries with explicit laws banning homosexual activity/pornography.

@rawTOP this does remind me that when I first got that maleprime page that I wondered if the language needed a bit of tweaking. Even after taking your genuine concerns about the UK government into account, and the current political situation re LGBT rights (especially trans rights) in the UK, you could argue it's an increasingly hostile environment... though certainly not as deadly as many of the other countries listed.

However, I suspect there's a fair number of UK-based users who haven't seen/noticed this thread especially as you've said before there was no easy way to pre-identify UK users, and the current wording of the page might be a little confusing for them. Wonder what sort of spike/increase in hits to that page you've had since the block went into effect.

Yes, but as outlined earlier in this thread it's not rawTOP's fault but a result of the age verification laws passed by the UK parliament.

Whenever I've had that maleprime page (another site that rawTOP, the owner of this site, runs) it's included in this second paragraph:

"Our data indicates that you're coming from United Kingdom which is (at least reasonably) friendly to gay folks."

I suspect the language about it "not being safe" dates from when this system was first implemented and restricted direct access from IP addresses in countries with explicit laws banning homosexual activity/pornography.

I wasn't criticizing rawTOP or this site but rather the need for the brute force block which is obviously down to outside influence.

Age verification is one thing, and I agree it's needed, but to implement it in this way is what I was calling stupid.

Ah, that explains it, nothing this current UK parliament does makes any sense.

Yes, the language on that page needs tweaking now that I’m sending people to it for reasons other than that their country wants to imprison or kill them. (The UK just wants to imprison me…)

I use Nord VPN. I am not particularly good with IT and tech but it was easy to install on my phone and computer and seems to work ok.

I don't want the puritans to win. 😁😁

I managed to install Nord VPM working fine, fairly easy to install.  Anyone keen to stay on the  site and am sure more and more websites will require  a VPN to access.
