I think it can be both … it depends on how you do it. …. Or more specifically if you verbalize it … how important doing it raw is to you.

are you “fucking” or “fucking bareback”?

For a lot of guys …. Especially younger guys who did not live the through the 80’s and 90’s - so were not indoctrinated with “you must always use condoms EVERY time” … it is just how they have sex …. Especially now with PrEP they can even be a 70’s style cum slut - but not think of BB as a fetish

but for veterans (survivors?) of the 80’s and 90’s who now BB and make being verbal about the fact that they are fucking raw, having unprotected sex, not using condoms….  Than for these guys at that time …. It is a fetish

So I would say that most of the guys on here …. At least some of the time enjoy the “fetish” …. Or at least “fetishize” BB sex.

and I think some guys practice both …. just like guys who are into leather, cigars, bondage, etc. …. Some times may just have “normal” sex and sometimes have “fetish” sex (whatever that fetish might be)

Oy. This is where I get on my soapbox. Apologies.

I have an issue with the entire concept of labeling something a fetish or a kink, since to me that implies there's a non-fetishistic/non-kinked (aka straight?) way of having sex and feeling desire that is the standard. This bugs me deeply. For some people anything outside of procreative sex is already beyond the pale, and I hate to confirm that view.

In my opinion we're already weighed down with the baggage of being sexual outsiders without coming up with additional categories. If it pleases you to regard it as a fetish, fine. I love worshiping the men I have sex with (sniffing, kissing and licking dick, balls, ass, body, everything!), which I suppose could be considered a kink/fetish. At the same time, it's what I enjoy greatly and resent having it labelled as "weird." I've been with men who aren't into it so I adjust as needed. Yet, I try to find guys whose desires are complementary. It makes everything more fun!

Stepping off soapbox now. Thank you for your attention. 😏

As a veteran of the 80s and 90s I am calling bullshit that our bareback is a fetish.  Maybe it is for @onlyraw, but as much as you try, you don't speak for me.

It's both, let's face it condoms sucks and I haven't used one in over 20 years. As far as cum well it's natural and since it's considered [banned word] it then becomes a fetish. At the end of the day what's hotter cumming inside a man or on one. We all know the answer to this since this is "breeding zone .com"

Hi @PozBearWI

I am sorry if I offended you- I did not mean to offend anyone … I think that you misread me - or I was not clear enough ….

I am not saying that all of us vets of the 80’s and 90’s fetishize BB sex, just that it may be easier for us to fetishize it after the Safe Sex indoctrinations we experienced during that time.

according to the Oxford Languages dictionary a fetish is “a form of sexual desire in which gratification is strongly linked to a particular object or activity…..”

So based on this definition, my interpretation is that if someone (no matter their age) is fucking and just happens to be not using a condom,  then they are just fucking.

But …. If two (or more) guys (no matter their age) are purposely and intentionally fucking raw, and being verbal about it as “a particular (…) activity” … Than that is, by definition, fetishizing BB sex.

I should also add, that I personally don’t see anything wrong with “fetishized” sex and  I do not use “fetish” as a pejorative or as an accusation. (I personally enjoy several fetishes).

sex is meant to rock your boat …. And so long as your partner(s) is/are also getting their boat rocked …. Who cares what you get into …. Go for it

I think for a lot of guys who came of age in the era of AIDS it became a fetish. "The forbidden" that we must never do. PrEP changed that (some didn't wait for it to come along). For me it's a sexual practice. Whether it's sex with a partner, a friend with benefits, or an anonymous stranger, it should involve a certain level of intimacy appropriate to the encounter. And I fail to see how there can be any intimacy if there's a piece of latex between you.

You didn't offend me @onlyraw.  But thanks for your direct response.  I think one of the common challenges going on in our society, no matter the subject, is the tendency to state or imply "all".  All Republicans are xxx, all democrats are yyy.  All of a specific generation are ZZZ.  The reality is not that.

Indeed some fetishize all sorts of things.  I for one purposely and intentionally fuck raw, not because it is a fetish, but because I find it much more pleasurable.

Actually, for the men you're describing - those who were actively fucking during the "80's. 90's" - i.e. before hiv came along - it's the way everyone fucked - the "normal" way to fuck.  Using condoms was an 'un-natural" or fetishized way to fuck.  Only a handful of men actually "fetishized" using rubbers; fucking without barriers of some kind (i.e. condoms) was completely normal and universal (except for those few who "fetishized" use of condoms.  It was the only way to have sex if one wanted to live out their lives.

Condoms came into virtually universal use almost overnight, once the mortalities started piling up.  Any guy that wanted to live his life either used condoms, or quit fucking all together.

These days, it seems - at least around here - that the predominant definition assumes the qualifier "bareback'.  It's the condom use that needs a qualifier, not "fucking".
