How many of you guys party?

I'm interested in the overlap and possible relationship between drug use, particularly meth, and barebacking.

Browsing through ads on BBRT and other sites, it's hard not to see that quite a few guys who are very much into raw sex also party. Many seem comfortable with being quite open about their drug use. Sometimes it seems that everywhere you look for raw sex, you're liable to run into drug use as well.

I wonder, then, if part of the increase in interest if fucking raw is also related to the rate of meth use in the gay community.

So I guess the first question to ask is how many of you guy party with T?

Haven't done it, but definitely open to the experience, especially in the context of group sex. Kind of a bucket list thing for me I want to try, and less a lifestyle I want to lead.

Oh! Man, I have used tina and have been fucked bareback! Actually, when using T I become a real PIG! I have done things on T that I can't believe...the next day I think "Oh, my God" I can't believe I ate that...LOL! Tried Meth once, didn't do much for me. But I have seen too many friends really ruin their life over it, only to spend years trying to get off of it. Very rare to find anyone who can use it occasionally and responsibly without turning into a total mess.

Meth is one of the few drugs that actually lives up to its 'Nancy Reagan' image. The scare commercials don't do it justice on what it can turn a person into. Just using it a couple times can really reel you in.

I got away from hard drugs (including injectables) when I was still in my 20s and am glad of that. But from what I've heard and read, I think I'd really enjoy being with a bottom who was doin meth--just because I could indulge my darkest fantasies and there'd be a good chance they'd go along with it.

I like to think I am keeping it under control (by limiting amount and frequency of use), but I also recognize the damage (mostly neurological) that is being done.

I party but I I do not let it become out of control or allow myself to get too risky, in fact I find I am more likely to bareback when drinking alcohol than if I get high because if I get drunk enough I am not going to think about being safe.

But there are many gay men who have let partying get out of control in their lives and they stopped caring and only had getting high and then having as much sex as possible and usually that means bathouses or hookup sites and by the point they have given up on being safe.

Well, I bareback all the time, wether I'm partying or not. For me, using these drugs is just something to do on occasion. I'd say it does generally enhance the right experience provided people don't get TOO fucked up but I probably only party a few times a year.

I would do a line of coke, I've only ever done it a few times in my life.

I don't like week either, it smells and I've tried it a few times and never got high, but I don't care if other people do it.

Meth, Crack and heroin are on my do not do list.

I'm 32, and was on it just about daily from 2005-2009.(i started doing it at 22) I had ridiculous amounts of sex on it. That part was great. Otherwise, I completely allowed myself to be ruined by it.. career wise, psychologically, physically, emotionally and everything else. I'd set out to party for a weekend, and a weekend would turn into a a few weeks.. and then a few weeks turned into months, and then years. I'm missing a lot of teeth, and am basically starting over in life at age 32. I had been off of it for 2.5 years, and got drunk off my face a few months ago, and got high. I'm actually glad that happened because it put a lot of things into perspective...(the fact that I enjoy sex OFF of meth much more now is just one of those things) I used to do ANYTHING I needed to do to get high.. have sex with gross guys, risk my freedom by selling it, etc. None of that was really worth it.. I don't regret my past, but I seriously would urge anyone who hasn't tried it yet to NOT do it.. I've seen it take down some of the strongest, most successful, smart people I've met, and at a huge huge price. Also, it's a great way to completely lose respect from others.. and don't fool yourself into thinking that the people in the tweak community are trustworthy, or your friends. When I stopped using, I basically became a recluse and got fat, and slothish.. It took me a really long time to get out of that funk, and I was able to lose the weight I gained, and more (yay!) and I also have realized that sex OFF of meth, is actually a lot more exciting than on it.. so is sex with non users.. they feel better, smell better, and taste better.. and there's none of the sketchy frustrating bullshit that comes with it. I realize I'm putting a very wordy response here, but I feel I have a lot to share on the subject.. I totally understand the allure, and curiosity, but having enjoyed the very best, and very worst of the lifestyle, I can honestly say stick with pot, and booze, and stay happy and healthy in your life.

Interesting responses. I wonder if it's a cause for concern that (in this highly unscientific poll) almost a third of "hardcore" barebackers (i.e. the kind of guys who'd get involved in a site like this) party, and 15% or so are people I'd say either are addicted or are in serious danger of it. That's more than <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18655714">ten times the prevalence</a> among men as a whole in the population (the study said about 3.1% of men have used meth in the last three years).

That strikes me as a real problem. If we take it as a given that meth really is an near-impossible to control, really bad drug (and this is coming from someone who thinks most drug use should be outright legalized), then perhaps we should look at what our own little corner of the community can do about it.
