    I really hate it. I don't think I'm the only guy who can't just always drop everything in a hot second to play. But I get a ton of people on sites like sniffies who delete messages before I even have a chance to read them. Sometimes in a few minutes. And even on sites like a4a I sometimes get people who will say things like "looking for now not later" and then they will block you if you can't meet right away. It is just super annoying and even worse sometimes these people are very abusive about it, calling anyone who is online other than when they are going to meet right now a "flake" or worse.

    I pretty much agree with Viking on this. I try to be as supportive of other authors as possible because I know what it is like to have people $#!+ all over something you've worked on. Even if someone's story isn't my cup of tea, I try to find something worth having a positive comment about or at very least I just don't say anything at all. If I have suggestions on how to make something better, I think Viking is correct that taking a kind and helpful approach is best. And doing it in private, probably not a bad idea either. Likewise, I know I'm not a very good writer, in fact my English skills despite ostensibly being a native speaker are pretty crappy. So I welcome a certain amount of constructive criticism... as long as the 'constructive' part is there.

    Yeah, you are probably right, that was probably it. I guess if he's fair he must down vote a LOT lot of the stories because there are a ton of stories with a lot more race/cultural content than mine. I try to not really offend people in those ways as much as I can while making the stories as interesting as I know how. But I'm not a great writer as I said before, and I even said in the story that my Spanish is poor... I live in an area where a fairly large percentage of the guys who visit the bookstores are Hispanic, probably better than 1/3 I'd guess. So I'm more than OK with playing with those guys. I refuse no dick or load. My Spanish is slowly getting better over time but I doubt I will ever get to functionally literate.
