I love that kind of scene! I appreciate your compliments but I am under no illusions that I'm anything but a hack writer compared to some of the other more talented folks here. I keep trying and I think maybe I have made some improvements over time, but I still feel like I'm struggling with the same things, character development, dialog and creating a picture of the sights, smells and even tastes of the story. I think I've maybe made some progress on the latter but the dialog and building characters with personality still evade me. They say write what you know. That's a lot of why I suppose most of my stories are based on bookstore and motel meetups because that's most of my experience. Perhaps I need to broaden my horizons so I have a little more diverse imagination and inspiration to work from. Anyway, I love the feedback and welcome constructive comments and even criticism.

I think this is a failing I have a lot in my writing and I think others also can get in a hurry. I struggle to add the details that add color to the story like describing the sounds, smells and creating a visual picture. And dialog, that's what I really have trouble with. I really appreciate the talents of writers who make those things look easy. Frankly Mykell is way ahead of me here but I hope he responds well to constructive criticism and even further grows. I'm trying to but I've got a long way to go. I try to get inspiration from others writing here, and this story is one recently that I loved.
