    Diagnosed with syphilis today.  Don't know from who or when, of course.  Got my shots and doc said to wait 2 weeks before any sexual contact.  Is that what others have been told?  Usually it's a week for most infections.

      These days a fortnight seems to be pretty standard. Just be thankful that you're not as old as me - I remember when we got told to abstain from sex and alcohol for six months. Lol. (Apparently men only went with bad women when they had drink taken, and one of the tests for syphilis took months to prove clear, so whatever you caught you had to wait for that.)

      Only had gono and if I remember correctly that took about two weeks as well. My doctor stressed that I should complete the treatment even though it may look like you're clear a lot sooner. It's a bummer.
