At a time in the U.S. when women are losing the rights to control their bodies, it is sad that some in the gay community believe that THEY shouldn't have the right to control THEIR OWN body. I truly wonder what that says about the feeling of selfworth of some people. And, by extension, the feelings of selfworth, or lack of it, in the gay community as a whole.

I'm pleasantly surprised by most of the responses on this topic. A lot of times on BZ, the attitude is expressed that a bottom is only a hole for the top's pleasure. The selfish person is the top who does have the feeling that any hole is his for only his pleasure. When I top, I want the bottom to enjoy receiving pleasure from me. When I bottom, I expect him to respect me and attempt to give me as much pleasure as he is receiving from my hole. the psychological pleasure knowing that your partner is having as much fun, is for me, as stimulating as the physical pleasure I receive from him. In short, "NO!" it is not selfish to want and expect pleasure from your top. My 2 cents, for what it is worth.

I definitely would also like a good gay friend. But I've never had one either. It would be fun to have another gay guy to go out with or go on vacation together. I also have another straight friend whom I've known for 20 years, and he's always on the lookout for the types of guys I like. He has no problem saying another male is hot. That could be because he's European, and they are often more sexually liberal.

I have had a straight male friendship for over 30 years. There has not, and are not, any romantic or sexual feelings involved. He was the first person I came out to. Our feelings are much deeper than friends. We both agree they are familial, basicly brotherly. We both believe we're connected in some way, and even more so than brothers. We have no problems hugging and saying "I love you," to each other. Quite often, we wonder if there are feelings somewhere between brotherly and romantic/sexual. Again, I have no such feelings for him. Have any of you had longterm friendships--over ten ears--with a straight guy and have brotherly or some feelings stronger than that for each other? Longterm friendships are unusual these days. I would definitely think that such friendships between a gay and straight guy are unbelievably rare. Tell us if you do. I'm not interested in hearing about hidden feelings. Just tell us about true, deep friendships. Thanks in advance.

It sounds to me as if these edits/changes were made by an ESL person. No one who has English as their first language, would use some of the words and structure that have been used here.

To supposedly be so closeted, some people seem to have extremely deep roots in the gay, bareback community. Also interesting, willing to sacrifice many to protect oneself.

I could be wrong, but wouldn't someone who personally knows 24 people who have contracted HIV while on PrEP,take that information to all and any medical oficials as possible? If no response after doing that, run to the media with those two dozen people and expose the cover up by the government and medical officials. Just making those claims on this site is basicly worthless, if, in fact, helping the gay community is the main point.

A pillbox is the answer for any medication. Then,put it in front of something where you know you will definitely see it--coffee maker, toaster, etc. I could be wrong, but in the majority of cases where guys have become poz, they weren't taking it correctly. Sayng that however, I'm sure there are a small number of people who are immune to the PrEP,just like any other drug.

Reading most of these responses makes me think that I'm a true freak on here. No one "owns" me, and I have no desire to "own" anyone when I do top. Being fucked feels great. It is the top's responsibility to make me feel good. It is my responsibility to make the top feelgood. In no way do I feel it is a one way street, when fucking. If he is hurting me, he "WILL" stop. And, I don't want to hurt someone for my pleasure. I consider him to be nothing less than a selfish prick if he doesn't care about my wel being. The opportunity to experiment, and do things that you might not do otherwise. The chance to hear other guys engaged in whatever activity. The sounds of sex can be so hot! Being blind, in a bathhouse, it is more acceptable if I "accidently" touch someone. Even if not sexually successful, it is sometimes possible to have a very good conversation with another guy.

On here, and on other sites, a lot of young guys--under 25--are supposedly on PrEP. My question is, how do they afford it? Or, if still on their parents' insurance, how do they not know? Don't the parents receive monthly statements on what their insurance is paying out? I guess another question could be, what percentage of young guys who say they are on PrEP, truly are? I hope we'll hear from the young ones and some doctors.
