Have been on Descovy for 18 months or so and have gained 15 to 20 pounds. I called the clinic and was told that unwanted weight gain can be a side effect for some people on Descovy. I don't know other men on Descovy so I figured I'd reach out here. Have other men experienced weight gain on Descovy?

63 now, negative. My friends, mostly all poz, are convinced I have some level of natural immunity. I, on the other hand am not convinced. Do any of you guys know how I can find out if I have thee CCR5 gene??? I'd love to find out without paying an arm and a leg. I live in the US Thanks people -

Hi you guys! I am curious to know why my roommate never shows up as being on-line when I click "GPS for those nearby you". I recently noticed that I never see his profile amongst other profiles that populate when I "GPS members near you." I see my profile as 0 miles and other member's profils in terms of how far they are away from me, however I don't see my roommare as being 0 miles away when we live in the same house. I also don't see him on "who is on-line" on NKP when I know for a fact that he is becasue I have search by his KNP username andsee a green dot next to his name. So with that I'd like to know if any of you guys out know ways of figuring out who might have blocked or unfreinded you on NKP? Thanks Fellas. xo

Hey, any idea how I can get tested for the CCR5? ANy studies, ect? I was born in the UK, in my 60s and negative. Many of my poz men friends can't belive I'm still negative because they know me and so many have suggested I get tested for this gene. I'd love to find out .... -

This is difficult to even imagine. All people infected with any STI should certainly be treated and idealistically undergo a test for cure once the treatment has been completed. The epidemiology speaks for itself. Rates of STI are certainly rising. Full treatment is warraned irrespective of PrEP.

To the best of my knowledge, doxy has not been approved for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Doxy 100mgs, 2 capsules orally are to be taken as post exposure prophylaxis (PEP), 24 to 72 after sex and in conjunction with daily descovey or truvada, or truvada 2/1/1, or appritude injection as PrEP. This approach lends about 60% protection against chlamydia and syphilis but not gonorrhea. Do't take doxy on an empty stomach. You'll likley feel nauseous.
