I wondered the same thing and went back a page to check if missed content that set up the boy's slam.  Like poor grammar and spelling, the truly challenged writers often lose their way in a story or sometimes they just lose a chapter or two. Many don't even know what they did until the praise they crave was replaced with a question from another member looking for clarification. DaddyBear, you'll probably survive this character assassination. Stay strong!
