Craigslist by far has delivered me the best steady stream of guys.   Grindr has the same guys on it that seem to use the app for entertainment, but I have had some minimum luck.   raigslist guys seem to turn into FWB also.

My experience is that it is getting harder to hook up on apps and websites.  Some of it is aging.  Reality has always been its easier to get fucked the younger you are.  However, I think there are several separate factors contributing making it harder to hookup online.

1)  There are too many hookup sites.  When hookup sites first appeared everyone was limited to basically Adam4Adam, Manhunt and Gay.com.  There are just far too many places to have to log on and sort through to find a fuck for the evening.  At first the fetish sites were great, but over time there are now multiple sites for simliar fetishes

2)  Many men I have spoken to feel that it was easier to use a gay bar as a place to meet a guy for a hookup for the evening than the sites.  People could not lie about their age, weight and you could tell if chemistry actually existed.  People also had reputations at the bars.  Your buddies could tell you who to stay away from.  A few responses here indicated that it is just plain easier to go to a bath house.  I tend to agree.   I am sick of wasting time online with someone only to have them disappear or say another night, or never show up.

3)  More people are just having cyberrsex and jacking off with another guy on Zoom or other sites for cam to cam (fake sex).   Go to a zoom room.  95% of the guys are alone and smoking  and jacking off.   Very little fucking.

Long story short… I bit off more than I could chew. I'm focusing right now on the porn sites that were part of my plan. I'm close to moving over all my old porn blogs, and moving over and expanding my gallery site. The porn star pages are coming along nicely. And I've spent a lot of time on tag pages – moving toward a more conceptual structure where for example "big dick" and "big cock" are the same thing, and then you can drill down into "huge cock", or "big black cock". And I'm working on pulling in new content so the sites have fresh content on them. Then I'll migrate my tube site (Raunchy Fuckers) – it has some old code on it that is holding me back from upgrading the underlying software on my server.

I'm guessing the porn stuff will keep me busy until mid-summer, then I'll turn my focus towards the hookup sites. I've got bits and pieces done. I'll probably deploy some really basic profile pages even while I'm working on the porn stuff (since I need profile pages for the porn sites). And topic-based chat will probably get deployed in the next couple months. And there's a place database that I'll probably deploy and ask some trusted users to help improve with local knowledge. 

Actually, reading your feedback has inspired me. There's a point in a long project where you wonder if what your working on will still be relevant when get it finished. And your comments make me think, yes, it will be. And that really does help keep me going. Thanks again!

I live near a big city - Philly- so there are typically a lot of profiles on A4A and BBRT but with a city as large as it the distance even within a city can be a barrier.  On BBRT I find a lot of people don't want to travel to the outer burbs and then they don't want to host so it's hard to hookup unless you are in a very narrow geographic area within the city.

A4A has it broken down better geographically but I find its most game player and looker in this area.  There are always parties posted but most are scam out to make money.

Where I have had success is in posting travel ads.  Maybe its because I'm fresh meat at that point.  I also tend to stay closer to metropolitan centers when I travel and can host at the hotel so people are more willing to meet

Honestly I don't mind travelling for a good fuck and play session, but if I am going to drive a long distance I need to know its actually going to happen when I get there.  Guys need to be more reliable

I used CL before I came out in my late teens,  its a shame its gone now.
