If it was up to you to set a new age of consent, what would the age be and why?

Look I'm a simple prude when it comes to this, why change it. Just leave it as is.

Mature or not, I think we should have a separation of kids and adults. Just my opinion.

Age of consent should be the age that courts deemed you an adult. Let me explain: if a 13 year old commits a crime and the courts in its infinite stupidity want to “judge him/her as an adult” it means that anyone at 13 should be able to give consent. PERIOD. Otherwise the judge would be hypocritical, no? Hypocrisy is something that we ALL know happens in the USA especially in red states. Otherwise we wouldn’t have a convicted felon for president while most minorities cannot even vote after they get a similar conviction.

I've worked with kids all my life and I guarantee that for every 12-year-old who's already sucking dicks there are fifty 12-yrs-old who still think like children (i.e sex does not exist). So keep it at 18. I guarantee that underage-ready-for-sex will find a way.

Yeah, it's similar to CNC for me.

 

The people who really want it, and seek it, and are comfortable engaging in the [banned word], will find a way while respecting the [banned word] in a safe way. It's important to protect those who don't have much a choice with our current laws. The other problem is that creeps exist, and the creeps/groomers are a real genuine problem. Age of consent can easily be justified as between 14-16 for many people, but even if you're sexually active consenting 15 year old, you're HEAVILY influenceable by a bad adult looking to groom you. That's bad and protecting against bad people like that is important no matter if you are an "early bloomer" or not.
