I am so horrified that The personals section of Craigslist has shut down because of another moral stand, against human trafficking. What in the f$&! does this have to do with deciding to suck cock at 3am? Seriously, now we can’t even talk about escorts here? ESCORTS ESCORTS ESCORTS! I hate the government’s

Historically the Governments have killed way WAY more people than anything they promise to protect you from.

This is the basis for the Limited Government promised by the Constitution of the united States of America.

It is the basis for the worldwide awakening found in the promises (if not the actions)of Donald Trump, the new President of Brazil, Brexit, the rejection of UN mandated migrants in Poland, and the Yellow Vest Riots in France.

All the suicide memes on Tumblr and the chasers promising to “never take the meds” on here are the tragic consequences.  The victims of a half century of DISEDUCATION promising a Brave New World are starting to realize that “everything you know is wrong” and the vast difference between real reality and the BULLSHIT they have believed has shorted out the logic centers in their brains.

We're also not talking a crime like murder, stealing, rape etc.  I don't see what's wrong with prostitution. The arguments against prostitution usually come down to other crimes?  So why not prosecute them instead?   If some guy who has not been trafficed, has plenty of money but decides to be a hooker  - because he likes it - what's the problem?  It's like banning cars because people get run over.

For what it's worth, I don't pay for sex (not for high moral reasons but because the sex is crap when you charge by the hour - it's a little dispiriting to see them glancing at their phone for the time).  That said the two who fuck me most often are or were "professionals" I met through Craigslist (doing, I suppose a bit of pro-bono work). I don't see any good reason for it's being made illegal.

Agreed. Free exchange of goods and services.

Making it illegal is a money racket for the Goooberment.

if they were worth two cents they would outlaw telemarketers instead

Put away your tar and feathers. Making a boogeyman out of “The Government” doesn’t work in this country because this bit of wisdom attributed to Alexis de Toqeville is absolutely right: In a democracy, the people get the government that they deserve.

If you point a finger at the top, you’re pointing in the wrong direction. Look instead to your fellow citizens, who have abandoned their God-given ability to think for themselves and instead simply react in reflex to fearmongering special interests. You don’t like these laws? Have you written to your Senator? Your Congressman? Have you made your outrage clear on the editorial page of your city’s newspaper? Or are you content simply to reflexively, and without much thought, blame “The Government” and by extension vilify everyone who works in it?

I was a federal civil servant for 30 years. I worked my ass off for my countrymen. Every day my coworkers - honest, dedicated public professionals - and I did our damnedest to squeeze the most value we could out of every limited tax dollar we had so we could give that value back to the citizens we served. We didn’t decide laws - we didn’t even have anything to do with most of them. But in our experience, every time some guy had a gripe with “The Government”, guess who got a suitcase full of bad attitude?

Think it through. Who sponsored this legislation? Who pushed it through? Why? What was their agenda? Stopping human trafficking is not a bad goal, but this solution is not ideal; why did no one object, or object strongly enough? Why did no one offer a better solution? Once the House flips, is anyone going to mount an effort to modify or repeal? If not, why the hell not? What about you? Do you hate this enough to do something about it, or are you just going to smear “The Government” here on a fringe forum?

That’s why democracies always fail, people eventually vote greedy and stupid. I’m sure there are dedicated civil servants that try to do the best job they can, but the true sociopaths rise to the top even in a Republic. It happened in Rome.

Our only defense agains the ratcheting tightening noose of tyranny is a severely limited gooberment, and the natural selection of personal responsibility.

The most successful nations are about the size of our States, and in the original Declaration of Independence the word “united” was not capitalized, it was an adjective, not the name of a Empire. Empires this size ALWAYS FAIL!!

Even the craziest “sovereign citizens” respect the local County Sheriff. States usually have a benevolent corruption that is survivable if you can work within the system. Nobody with any sense of history trusts the Federal Government.

In the 1965 movie “The Andromeda Strain” the Federalis had a huge comlex the size of the NSA’s Utah campus that found a cure. This was hilarious propaganda.

In real life it was private companies, lured by profit, that developed the HIV meds.

The NWO TRAITORS within our Federal Government  probably gave us HIV, or at least imported it, and since then have engineered Ebola and Zita to destroy the local seat of power and replace it with one chosen by them. Once in power the crisis seems to disappear, doesn’t it?

also being in the government i have never seen a bunch of sheep like our elected officals. can you imagine someone going against the law  they would be attacked and beaten down by the government and press they would have everything brought out on them true or false. even god couldnt handle it. i know alot of crooked people in high places but hey they have the power. only way for true change is not vote them out cause it would never happen very few are actually afraid of that. Hmmm. Sounds good to me. Then no need to abolish the pension. Just make it that 3 terms are required to become vested into the program.

"whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain — that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist."
