The first time I worked for them (they had hired me begrudgingly), they told me that they wouldn't pay for my travel. Brad McGuire had told them he wanted to do a scene with me, and so they told me that if I could get myself to IML in Chicago (I'm in Philadelphia), they would film a scene with us. And so, I got myself out there, and shortly after checking in to the hotel, like no less than 15 minutes, I was downstairs in the marketplace, where I saw the Treasure Island table. I went up to it, and Dan Fisk was working it at the moment. I told him I was there to shoot for the studio, and surprisingly, him and I hit it off very quickly (which is kinda unusual for me), and he took me up to his room and fucked me, lol. Afterwards, he told me that he ALSO was now wanting to shoot a scene with me (which, along with Brad wanting to initially, was one the most goddamn flattering things in the world to me to this day). So he asked whomever was running the show that weekend, Paul and whoever else, and they said (again, begrudgingly) that they would, but that they wouldn't spend any money to rent or use a location for it, which is why my scene with Dan Fisk is in the stairwell of the hotel. AND they paid me practically nothing for that scene, which, on one hand, was fine, because I would have blown Dan in the stairwell for free, haha, but on the other hand, I mean, I feel like studios should at least pretend to give a shit about their models. I dunno.

Basically, what I'm saying is, yeah, Treasure Island has a long history of A) Being cheap as fuck, and B) Giving zero fucks about the people working for them.

The upshot - if you really try to see the positive in this (pun intended) - is that it's a good place for newcomers in porn, and you get to add it to your resume. As I said before, they know they can get guys, so they're "disposable". "Expendable". Some guys are into humiliation and being used. This is one reason I didn't follow up on my interview in 2013. I already knew it was going to be bad, and the disillusionment was a turn-off. Couldn't get hard for Truckie to take pictures.

Sorry, but ALL studios have that behavior, from straight studios, gays and even webcam companies. For them ALL actors and actresses are precindible, and wages are very low. The only ones favored are the stars, who do not come from nowhere, have businesses like bars, clothing stores, gyms, etc. Those stars are mostly VIP escorts, so they have godparents behind that finance their movies, and sometimes they create their own independent studios. Drug use is not an option, so 99% of scenes in the porn world in general are with "aids".

Especially speaking of TIM, I have chatted with two guys who have participated in her scenes. They tell me that they felt very good and fulfilled their fantasy, but that it was not good pay. As I said previously, the world of porn is an ephemeral business for those who want to participate, but producers and owners earn thousands of dollars annually without making much effort. I reiterate, I love TIM FUCK and many other companies, but porn is fantasy and now, if we stop at their failures we will never be able to see porn equally, and even hollywood (remember weinstein)

See, in my opinion, no, all studios do NOT behave like that. I've worked with some incredible studios who were WONDERFUL to me. When I worked for Cruising For Sex, they treated me with respect, compassion-- they were accommodating as fuck. Each time I worked for them, they were amazing. And they were/are not a studio with the biggest budget, but they always paid me extremely well on top of their treatment of me, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Same with Dark Alley Media, they were so nice and respectful of every aspect at all four shoots I had with them. Pantheon, in San Fransisco, they were so wonderful that they flew me out there a day early, paying for an extra night in a hotel, all because I had never been there before, and they wanted to be nice and give me a chance to see the city. And Hot Desert Knights? They were the absolute best. They not only cared about paying me fairly, and my having a good time, but they also cared about my health. And they took measures to ensure my safety. I could never repay them for how good they were to me. And they didn't have to be. I mean, who was I then, I was no one. They treated a nobody like that. And their kindness only grew the longer I knew them.

So, no, not all studios treat their models like shit, and like they're expendable. Some of them actually care. I'm so thankful I got to work with those companies and met those people, THEY are what I miss about the industry. THEY are why I can look back at my career with fondness. If all I knew was Treasure Island, I'm not gonna lie, I'd be bitter and jaded as fuck. That being said, and though I might get flack for saying this, no, I don't think TIM is a good place for people curious about a career in porn to start out. They are not the best the industry has to offer.

But, hey, what do I know? It's been quite a while since I worked with them. I could be wrong. But judging from what I knew then, and what I see and hear and know now, I'm not.

Your better luck would be Hairy & Raw as TIM is mostly Muscle twinks and former of the same.

Muscle twinks? Twinks maybe, but definitely not muscular.

From Leather-lee: Muscle twinks? Twinks maybe, but definitely not muscular.

It's funny how men perceive other men, some seeing muscular others saying Nahh.
Back in 2000 my roommate and I went to one of the San Francisco beaches and he said I was lucky. I said, Lucky?
He said "You're lucky you've got that Club boy body."
I think I pissed in my bathing suit laughing so hard.  Told him that was a nasty thing to call me but I'd forgive him.
He was husky and like everyone with everything in life it just nagged on him that he could never be thin, and he was shunned at the gay bars by guys.
He wound up dead the next year of an overdose. He should have never come out to San Francisco to live (from Pittsburgh.)  He wanted to fit in so badly there.

Back to porn and TIM though...Back in 2000 Paul Morris was one kinky raw video guy, and hot. Watch those early flicks. He would create all kinds of scenes with strange musical pieces accompanying the scenes.  His flicks were regular guys off the street or neighborhood. But I think he too fell into the mentality "the prettier they are / the wealthier I am".  And as they expanded to NY and London (why I do not know) the cookie cutter selection process got more refined.
To this day I do not know what he or anyone saw in Tom Shannon. I'M HUNGRY. FEED ME. lol The last sheet of paper in my printer has more dimensions than Tom did.

Want to do a porn? Then Do the porn and have fun.
Do it while on vacation.
Plan a head because you won't find a bunch of Hey wanna be in a porn? cards, with the free museum and shopping district cards,  in the hotel lobby.

If you're expecting to make a career of it then be prepared for their reality, and remember you'll have to exfoliate hourly.
When you make it big then don't forget the regular guys on the street, because we're still your waiters, bartenders, or Starbucks baristas who can do creative things with your beverages without you knowing it.

Bust a nut!  (Get it? Not break a leg but Bust a nut!)  Ciao!

I had gone to the Winter Party in Miami a few years ago, and was feeling pretty good.  I was high, hard, and horny.  I was at the welcome party around the pool and got separated from my posse.  I was able to focus enough to see all the guys I was dancing near were super hot. Two sexy as fuck dudes (one black and one white), encircled me, and we dance, bumped, ground, etc,. together.  They said they were going to their room to freshen up...so I went too.  They said they were scouts for TIM, and wanted to know if I was interested.  "Fuck Yeah!"  I exclaimed in the hall, as we into a hospitality room or suite.  They asked a series of questions: Top/Bottom? (a: Yes!) , Party n Play:  (a. Yes!) , Other guys, chems, cocks were all over, so I jumped in and played with them, posing for pictures, video, etc.

After quite a long play period, I thanked them and staggered back to the pool deck and realized that my audition had been fake (duh) just trying to get me into the sling/sack.  I auditioned for smaller local studios, and love the casting couch.

Just letting you know... I interviewed with TIM a few years ago in what was then their San Francisco offices. Interview went great but they wanted me to top and I mostly bottom and they weren't thrilled with my hiv negative status at the time. Hairy and Raw did work out a couple of years ago for about 4 films as bottom and top.

Rape on set does happen at TIM. So anyone who wants to work for them should keep that in mind and stay safe.

Personal experience?

I keep thinking about applying there. For some reason that comment made me consider applying even more.

No. But it's pretty obvious in some of the videos. It happens at some of the scummier studios. I don't buy anything from TIM because its labor practices are too shitty.

I would definitely sign all waivers, volunteer for free, and even pay all my travel expenses to play Jon Phelps’ role in the 2012 classic ‘Slammed’ as long as Liam Cole was still behind the camera (and in me between takes.) It’s definitely my all time favorite. No worries about rape either… with the blast off enhancements.

On or off camera?  By the actors or the crew?
