For me chlamydia seems to occur 2 to 3 times a year however since been on doxy prep it's been over 18 months since I've had an sti  perhaps doxyprep  is working. Covid may have reduced the overall STI rates so that also could have something to do with it speculation on my part, I guess some more time will tell.

I feel like the same chlamydia bug has been passed around continually in the city for years. Get it at least once a year. Gono a little less frequent.

I have a buddy that has a FB that gives him something every time they fuck but he can't stay away. And I've definitely had guys not care about me having something and still wanna fuck. I love our attitude towards sleaze and bb sex.

I get checked about every eighteen months.

I've had guys not caring about passing on some STI. Last time was a couple, both of whom had Gono. One had his cock down my throat and the other one, as he was about to slide his cock into my hole, told me.

Depending on how active one is, maybe more frequent testing than 3 months is something to consider.  The sooner they're detected, the sooner they can be treated, and every sexually active guy will pick up one of the lesser bugs occasionally, even on PrEP.

Freedom isn't really "free" - there's a price to be paid for everything, it seems.  But we have resources now that make it really cheap to live the way we need to live and still protect ourselves and our brothers.

I haven’t read all the replies yet, but I’m not sure if you are in the US however, there is an option for Doxypep it should help keep STDs or STI‘s from occurring.

My experience is similar to  @partying.hard.  My doctor, who specializes in Infectious Disease, has a base of patients that are primarily gay men.  He has told me just how difficult it is to get HIV, but the other STD's  are out there, and easy to catch. I haven't had herpes, but I have had the majority of the rest, once or maybe twice  and I think that's almost inevitable if you play weekly.  I am been active, a solid thirty years, in various large, metropolitan areas.  That is alot of weekends, a lot of guys, not including trips that were specifically for sex, like going to San Fran and Palm Springs.  Though I didn't manage to avoid HIV, it's been my good figure that the Health Department does not have my phone number on speed dial. Granted, Monkeypox scared the hell out of me, I knew it causesd permanent scarring and I wanted to get to the front of the line for those shots.   But you would think I would have become infected with the more common STDs, for me, it just hasn't happened.

When you do the math, and you add up the number of contacts, I have been incredibly fortunate.  Maybe it's just dumb luck, but I haven't had that many issues.  My T cells have been low, and my viral load has been off the charts, but that's because I didn't cooperate with the drug regimen.  However when it comes to other STDs, I have been very fortunate.

I do the same, except I take it 24 hours after a heavy session.  It does seem very effective at preventing chlamydia and syphilis: I haven’t had either since a started taking doxy, and that was about 3 years ago.  It is completely ineffective against gonorrhoea, though: I’ve just had my quarterly prep check up, and have been diagnosed with gonno yet again 😡

Similarly, also taking PrEP and DoxyPEP. I am doing a DoxyPEP dose daily for 3 mornings after sex. Went to a big party and had quite a few partners, came back with gonorrhoea. So my experience was the same as yours.

How often do you test and how active are you?

I’ve tested negative for hiv probably a decade ago. Ive never had any other testing done. I probably mess around with a few guys a month

There are plenty of asymptomatic STIs that you wouldn't know to test for. That's the reason regular testing periods are the gold standard. Not having symptoms of an STI does not equal being STI negative.

Well if I’m asymptomatic with anything i may or may not have then it doesn't matter to me. I say just let it ride
