Turn off notifications for images

How does one turn off notifications when people comment on images that aren't your own?

Are these people you are following? If you follow someone, you get notices every time they do anything.

Yep. I was hoping I could turn those off.

I have unfollowed people in the past because of overly prolific commenting things like "Yeah!" "Me too" etc on dozens of images.

For the record, I feel your pain on this issue. 

I don't know of a way to accomplish this. Maybe @rawTOP has an answer.

Tbh I don't really mind. Yes, there can be a lot but sometimes the comment makes me curious and directs me to a pic I haven't seen before.

It's the same as reading a comment from someone you follow to a thread you haven't seen before because it did not show up in your notifications.

But a feature which allows members to switch off the comments would be handy for those who are annoyed by them.

I unfollowed someone a few weeks go. I don't think I've ever had to do that before. But, I found his commenting on dozens of pics every day was getting annoying. Clicked unfollow. Problem solved.
