How many of you go to the gym?

I go 5x/week. I'm required to stay fit for work and have to take a fitness test 2x/year.  I put on headphones and don't interact much with people (lifting is my Zen time) so have no idea who is gay, bi, straight, etc. Most gyms I've been to are close to 50/50 men and women.

Yep. Been doing it for years. I've found that if I miss the gym for a day (or longer), I really feel it. Something in my chemistry is off, or I just find myself bored, or like I'm "missing something". I haven't always got the greatest results from my regular devotion, but I'd probably be as big as a house if I didn't take some form of exercise.

In my 20's I worked out every day, alternating between weights and jogging. In my 30's, career choices limited me to every other day or less.  Dinners and social drinking required an increase in suit size.  My 40'sand 50's were a blur of promotions, travel, moves to various parts of this and other countries and an acceptance of my preference for raw rather than safe sex. My health became a reawakened priority as early retirement became a reality and my desire to regain my weight became a priority.  I'm back to 3 times a week...weekends off....a plant-based diet and very little alcohol.  I'll never be as fit as I was in my 20's, but I feel much better and have lost 35lbs so far.  It's not as easy or enjoyable as it used to be, but I approach it as a necessity.

Just asking, how many of u do you go to the gym? do you think it's more of a man's or of a woman's thing (or both go to equal numbers)? And do u think gay guys tend to go more than straight ones?

I used to go a few times a week so I could use the treadmill to jog. Where I am it gets super humid in the summertime and I have a hard time running when the heat and humidity are high. A couple years ago I bought a treadmill for my house and it was one of the best investments I've ever made.

I work out 5x/week, almost exclusively in group fitness classes. I do yoga 2-3x/week as well. I want to stay lean and fit so I concentrate on Pilates, Barre, and HIIT classes. I work out at various locations that my gym has throughout my local area. Almost always straight men and women, save for the WeHo and Hollywood locations in LA or the Chelsea and Village locations in NYC where it is a majority of gays/lesbians. I'm at the gym to work out and not for anything sexual -- the goal is to keep my fitness level high and to keep myself active, strong, and fit. It's working!

I don't go to the gym, instead I work out with a group and a trainer so my workouts are planned / thought out beforehand and all I have to do is show up and put in effort. It's been working out well for me

I lift weights 5-6 days per week and have for most of the past 40 years - started at 20yo.  I recently started yoga twice per week.  I definitely started so I'd look like the guys I wanted to have sex with, and that's still a pretty influencial reason.  I have friends my age who do not workout and have not had sex in YEARS - they cannot attract the guys they want to have sex with, so they just don't have sex.  It also seriously helps with reducing stress!!  I live in a big city and have always gone to gay/predominantly gay gyms.  Half of my long term friends I have made at the gym.  I consider it social as well as exercise and look forward to seeing people I know and hang out with on a daily basis.  I take zero medications - well....viagra 🙂 and I attribute that to daily exercise and eating pretty well overall.  A huge part is the "fuckability" part, but at this point it's just a part of my life I can't even imagine not being part of my daily routine.
