Since a large proportion of Central and South American "Hispanics" actually have both Spanish and Indigenous roots, they're probably not "Caucasian" in any traditional sense. (And that's one of their objections, obviously.) I concur. To these maga-creeps, anyone that is not more pale compared to everyone else (meaning the least-possible amount of melanin in their bodily chemistry), is not Caucasian or "white". An albino of African heritage would still not be "Caucasian". This co-opting of "white privilege" is actually for the benefit of Pale People who can trace their ancestry to presence in the US back many decades, and recent arrivals to the US that are also pale (i.e. Caucasian), benefit from that loophole in the hatreds Maganian's harbor for everyone else. The hatreds people tend to cling to never make complete sense, and they don't have to. All that's required is, 'that person doesn't look like me; therefore he/she is trying to displace me'. That's all it takes to assuage these hatreds of "the other", and all the while they pretend to follow the teachings of a good man a couple of millennia ago. It's not only the fabled "Emperor" that has no clothes. Why do these miserable miscreants waste perfectly good food feeding themselves ......... Edited July 7, 2023 by hntnhole phrasing Quote
ellentonboy Posted July 7, 2023 Report Posted July 7, 2023 What amazes me is that here in Florida I know many guys that are clueless to the fact they may try to log on to their favorite hook up site or porn site in the very near future and find, SURPRISE!, they can't get in. I actually had discussions at a bar during Pride and people's jaws were dropping. "What are we gonna do?', or better yet "they can't do that to us we have paid memberships". Oh, but they can. I told them to get a VPN if they didn't have one already (most didn't!) and keep their fingers crossed. Quote

I’m not how true it is but a guy on another site said Grindr will be forced to do this soon. I can’t see that working. It’s bad enough I can’t fake my gps anymore on Grindr (yes, I did this because I don’t want guys just dropping in unannounced). If I have to VPN somewhere else, won’t that mean my location on Grindr will be wherever my VPN is set to? Quote

My VPN is set for NYC and say I sign into NKP, and forget to turn it off, all the guys around me are in NY, not Florida. So I think it will be a matter of you remembering what site you are on and if you indeed need the protection of a VPN. I was not aware that Grindr can detect your VPN, I got off that site because there were some real dicks on there (and not the good kind) and I found it expensive. I use free sites and haven't had problems getting laid but if we are going to be subject to these kind of draconian shut downs I may be forced to find other alternatives. Does this mean I will be forced to go out and actually interact with people? Talk? In person? God forbid...... This sucks man and had I not been a member of BZ (shout out to the owner and moderators) I would not know what may be happening in the very near future. Happy hunting! 1 Quote

Grindr has the resources to implement compliant age verification systems, if needed. Sites that don't charge users or earn substantial advertising revenues can't afford to develop such systems and need to resort to blocking states. This will entrench the big playes, such as Grindr, and discourage the rise of competitors. Quote

I could see a heavy decline in usage for the US as people won't want to provide their ID and information to pass the age verification checks to use a site/app like Grindr. They'd also need to be careful implementing any form of ID submission check in the UK and EU countries as we have very tight and strict data processing/handling laws, when it comes to personal/private data of people, that they could possibly fall foul of. A lot of companies might just cut their losses and block the US and not implement any form of check as its too expensive, too prohibitive or just can't be bothered. I don't disagree that there won't be some major issues. There will be some loss of membership, I'm sure. I guess my point is that large, revenue-generating sites like Grindr have the resources to try to work around these problems. Free sites like this one do not. Quote
DallasPozzible Posted July 9, 2023 Report Posted July 9, 2023 I’m in Texas. A few nights ago, I got the block page. The next day I didn’t. However, I know permanent blocking is coming, so I’m now using a VPN. I do have another question though. At least one other site correctly shows my real location. So will a VPN using server in a “free” state be enough? Or do we need to take further precautions? Quote

Look at the 1st post on page 4. rawTOP says he's reactivated Texas for now as the block isn't yet enforced. Regarding your other question, it should be based on the Geo location of the IP Address being used. If the IP Address you're connecting through is telling websites that it's based in Ohio for example, then you should be fine. If the IP Address you're connecting through is based in Ohio but for some reason the Geo Loaction is being pulled directly from your home IP and reported then you may run into problems. It shouldn't matter what you put in your profile information or ZIP code on the website as I would expect access to the sites to be controlled by IP Geo Location. Hopefully @rawTOP can advise how hes implementing the blocks to confirm my thinking 1 Quote

I connect to VPN locations in Denver or Chicago and it's fine. Quote

Do you ever think there will come a time when NYC will not be able to connect? I am trying not to change my location but I will if I have to in order to maintain access. I can't imagine a day when NY will be affected. VPNs make things load more slowly. It helps if the VPN POP is near or on the way to the server you're loading. 1 Quote
Oldercumslut Posted July 12, 2023 Report Posted July 12, 2023 Just now saw this. The only browser that limits is Safari on IOS. Chrome still gets me to the home page.. Althu9ogh most of the time I'm using VPN, anyway. Quote
