hntnhole Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 I'm guessing that Tim Pool offered him that ancient "fire/theater" line .... probably the Satanic Panic thing too .... Quote
jeff238 Posted November 23, 2024 Report Posted November 23, 2024 Just got blocked here in washington state. I access BZ almost exclusively on my phone, who is also my ISP (on a separate contract). I got blocked while using the phone's network, as opposed to my internet via cellular gateway. I switched the phone to wifi, and all is good. Phone network shows me in Idaho. Lol not bloody likely. toolman1966 Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 Conservative states are blocking porn sites. Breeding zone is block in Nebraska and will be blocked in other states. I am visiting another state and able to post. We are losing our rights everyday. Quote
WeBearBears Posted December 30, 2024 Report Posted December 30, 2024 Hi, pls excuse if this has been covered already… So I live in Delaware, specifically Dover, zip 19904, which is not on the list… However, I’m now being blocked because male prime says “based on your IP this is where we believe you’re located…” which is: United States -> Virginia (state/province) -> 511 (metro area) -> Alexandria (city/town) -> Postal code: 22304… Which I am not… I ‘m using Xfinity as my provider… But if I use my phone, which is Verizon, it shows I’m in NJ… Is there a way to force my IP to be either in my actual state / location, or one of the non blocked states close to me? fdiscodude Posted December 31, 2024 Report Posted December 31, 2024 From what I can find, most of these new laws just require ID verification of adult status for adult sites. Not an actual blocking of the sites, but a condition that you will be restricted if you do not meet. So no, I won't be contributing to fight this at all, since it's being misrepresented by both sides. Require id verification, for example a one cent charge or something (just an example) to verify. As much as people dislike it, it is a reasonable and expected response. Denying the fact that porn has been far to easy to access for kids is lunacy, I was watching online porn on windows 98 with dialup.....its been an issue for as long as the internet has been accesable to the masses. This isn't a fight between me and other ppl, I don't really care what people here think if my take because clearly ppl have lost their minds with all this idealogical nonsense. I'm an adult, I can access porn no problem. I have no issues with these laws. It being an inconvenience isn't enough for me. People love regulation until it affects them personally..... Queue redditor style responses that I'll never read. 1 2 Quote
Moderators viking8x6 Posted December 31, 2024 Moderators Report Posted December 31, 2024 @fdiscodude The devil is in the details. Quoting from a few pages back in this topic (re. currently available age verification solutions, emphasis mine): On 8/13/2023 at 11:09 AM, rawTOP said: They exist, but they're cost prohibitive for sites like this one - which makes them unconstitutional. Then there's the issue of the validator knowing too much about you which violates your privacy. There is a double blind solution in the works, but it's not ready yet. Hopefully it won't be cost prohibitive. Quote
Administrators rawTOP Posted January 2 Author Administrators Report Posted January 2 Good News: A judge blocked the Tennessee law that would have also gone into effect yesterday. (A nice win thanks to FSC). Bad News: Florida has now been added to the block list. Related to that - even porn production is illegal in Florida (and has been for a while). And a reminder that we'll have a better idea of where all this is headed end of day on the 15th after the Supreme Court hears FSC v Paxton. 1 Quote

hntnhole Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 I've been using a VPN for years now - anyone snooping around will think I've lived all over the world by now, unless they read certain individual entries in certain threads. 1 Quote

The court's logic was "weird"… Yes, age verification is probably unconstitutional But because the Supreme Court allowed a similar law to be enforced pending appeal, we'll let the Indiana law to be enforced. Meanwhile the case is on hold until SCOTUS rules on the Texas case It's like keeping a cop on full pay while he's suspended. Quote
