There is nothing new under the sun, as the saying goes. How common this is, of course, varies, but I don't think it's especially rare.

The OP’s question doesn’t seem to be asking how common it is for someone to like rimming, but rather, how common is it for someone to want nothing except eating ass, for an extended session, and then leaving without having done something else as well.

In my, shall we say, broad-based experience, I receive such requests very rarely, though I have received them. I separate those requests into two categories, however: The first, and by far the more likely, is the bottom wanting to eat my ass not for the pleasure of rimming, but in order to get the cum that Tops have fucked into me. I'd say you answered your own question in the first sentence of your post.  For the sake of discussion, let's reduce that to 95%, which leaves a paltry 5% for everything else. There are many, many men that love to eat Hole, and do it often.  Generally a precursor to Breeding, but not necessarily, as you (and others) point out.

Based on all the comments I read here and other sites and in porn scenes on how much guys like rimming and being rimmed I figured I was the outlier among bottoms. I have never rimmed and politely tell tops that I will not do it to them. I also never request or expect to be rimmed. Sometimes tops seem really keen to do it and I let them and it does feel good but not to the level that it blows me away.
