  1. This isn't entirely true. Grindr is contractually bound by its privacy policy and that policy would not permit it to sell or disclose an individual's data, except as expressly provided in the policy. And that policy wouldn't permit this type of data sale, and wouldn't disclose data to the government without a subpoena. Thus, any individuals whose data was disclosed in violation of the policy has a legal cause of action against Grindr. However, it would have to be their personally identifiable data - I'm not sure exactly what was sold. It would not violate the policy to sell certain types of meta-data, for example. Here's what the current privacy policy says: " We may access, preserve and disclose Personal Information to investigate, prevent, or take action in connection with: (i) enforcement of the Grindr Terms and Conditions of Service; (ii) claims that any content or behavior violates our policies or the rights of third-parties; (iii) requests for customer service; (iv) technical issues; (v) protecting the rights, property or personal safety of Grindr, its users or the public; (vi) lawful legal requests including subpoenas, warrants, or court orders or in connection with any legal process; (vii) establishing or exercising our legal rights or defending against legal claims; (viii) tax and accounting purposes; or (ix) as otherwise required by law, collectively 'Legal Obligations'."
  2. Now they've changed it again, with the evening party on Saturday and no day party until August 18th, when there will also be an evening one again. I looked up the venue and you can find it if you do a search for Spacees Studios. It's an open room that's rented out for all kinds of functions, from movies, to lectures, to parties, and it's 3,000 square feet, and holds 50 to 75 people (according to the site). The space is customized by each renter for its particular function, so I don't know what Cumunion will be doing with it or how they'll set it up.
  3. The new Texas law goes into effect on September 1, 2023. Thus, we should be OK here through August. I suspect the effective date will ultimately be delayed by the courts, but we'll see.
  4. No, both parties are not this coming Friday. They were, but were rescheduled. The day session is on Friday. The evening session is now on Saturday, as I stated above.
  5. No it wasn't Friday - it's this coming weekend. Day session on Friday, August 4th, and evening session on Saturday August 5th now.
  6. Jake Hill has been making rap, hip-hop, metal, and pop-punk albums for years and the Dixon Dallas persona, along with his UR Pretty album, are tongue in cheek / jokes, that became successful and he's capitalizing on them. He's a great songwriter, but supposedly, is actually straight. He's never publicly said he's gay, and he's had a girlfriend named Courtney that he's mentioned on social media. There are forum threads about him elsewhere discussing this if you do a Google search, including postings from a guy he went to school with. Notably, he only does his gay-themed material under other names, rather than on the many albums released under his own name.
  7. I'm going (evening one), but it will be my first, so don't know much either, and haven't been to the venue. The Google Map photos are probably several years old. Would also like to hear from others who've been.
  8. FYI, there have only been 6 reported cases of PrEP failure worldwide to date. So unless anyone here is one of those 6, I'm pretty confident you'll find that regardless of the number of bare encounters, no one has been infected. If you take the pills regularly as scheduled, so that the drugs remain in your bloodstream in sufficient amounts, it's almost impossible to become infected.
