  1. I had noticed this, and noted that its existence speaks volumes... As @partying.hard correctly points out, it will be completely unnoticeable (apart from a throwaway news item) to the people it's intended to hurt or threaten. A one-day event won't touch their bottom line significantly (and if it would, our economic system would be so volatile as to be useless). Also, a one-day event will most probably be a throwaway even from the point of view of the proletariat customers. People who participate will simply move their purchases to another day. But furthermore (and this is the part that to me personally is most interesting), the existence of such an event directly implies that it will be a meaningful change in behavior for the people cancelling their purchases... in other words, that most people BUY A SIGNIFICANT QUANTITY OF GOODS EACH AND EVERY DAY! That says a lot about the 21st century American culture and economy.
  2. @nanana re your screed Yup. Aware of all that. Commenting specifically and exclusively on my statement that @insatiableholeinTO's is false: "Deaths...would not have been" has no truth value, as we cannot know what would have happened in a hypothetical case; "now approved against Covid" is demonstrably false. Q.E.D. Way wayyyyyy back at the beginning of this thread, I posted a warning that promotion of denialism is not OK. Yup, still true. Goes for Covid as well. <edit re your item 2> "very small rocks" 😉
  3. This statement is false. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivermectin_during_the_COVID-19_pandemic
  4. At 11 days after exposure, it is too late for PEP to be effective.
  5. It is certainly possible that you were infected. The chances are small. But the chance of being hit by lightning is small, too, and that happens to a few people every year. The symptoms you describe could be HIV. They could also be any of a large number of other viruses or conditions. As you have significant symptoms and are concerned about them, go see a healthcare professional - that's why we have them, and they can order tests that will give you a lot more information about what is going on in your body. If the anxiety ("I'm convinced I have been infected") is a serious issue, ask the healthcare folks for something to assuage it temporarily. Benzodiazepines have their drawbacks, but for short-term anxiety they are truly useful. Keep in mind that if you have seroconverted, you have many options for treatment and are very likely to live a long and healthy life.
  6. I have some hope that in 2025... The left wing, having had their hats handed to them, will do some serious thinking about addressing the problems of the many before chasing after the issues of the lunatic fringe. By that I mean the economy (as seen by the proletariat), healthcare, sustainable existence, and climate change (that's my personal short list of things that really count). The right wing, having their darlings Trump and Musk, et al., demonstrate their complete unsuitability for public office, will do some serious thinking about addressing the problems of the many before chasing after the issues of the lunatic fringe. By that I mean the economy (as seen by the proletariat), government spending, individual rights, and infrastructure (also my personal list, perhaps slightly less focused than the above but I'm sure some of y'all right-wingers will be glad to help me out).
  7. The contact form goes directly to the (one and only) site admin, @rawTOP. Because there's only one of him, and this is not his day job, it can take a while for him to deal with things. Moderators will help where they can (in this case, we can't). Any new topic posted in the Tips and Tricks forum is automatically flagged so a moderator will definitely see it.
  8. Fuck, this is excellent! Got me hard and cranked up in an instant. Kudos!
  9. Here's a link to a Washington Post article about gender transition supporting healthcare in youth: https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2024/12/03/gender-trans-hormones-kids-health/
  10. My parenthetical there was intended tongue-in-cheek (as a reference to 'acting "fey"' above). Consider that we have no way of knowing what gender identity they should be assigned at birth... so it's less a question of changing their gender identity than of recognizing what it is in the first place. And no, it's not common these days - it's estimated as well under 1% of people.
  11. So, what is happening now in some cases is that kids who are manifesting signs that they may be trans (acting "fem") are being given puberty blockers - yes, Virginia, that's a pill that prevents the onset of puberty while you take it - so that they have a bit more time to decide/understand whether they are really trans or it's just a phase, before puberty kicks in and causes their body to manifest the characteristics of a particular adult sex. @PozBearWI is saying that this may be just as barbaric as electroshock treatments. Although those, too, are useful in certain cases.
  12. I am not a medical doctor. I do, however, have a doctorate in science and a fair bit of knowledge on these topics. 1. one day your treatment might stop working (if your virus evolves a resistance to it). BUT - there are many classes of antivirals available now, so another treatment will probably still work if that happens AND it is quite possible (even probable) that you will die of something else before your treatment stops working 2. superinfection is an old theory, and has been observed in practice to happen very seldom, especially if you are on HAART treatment (which effectively acts as PrEP against other strains with which you might come in contact) 3. that's possible if you are immunosuppressed. If you are undetectable and your immune system is working properly, I see no reason to think that your chances of getting cancer or pneumonia would be significantly higher. 4. that's nonsense. DoxyPep can in theory cause any bacteria you have at the time you take it to become resistant to doxycycline. That risk is not very important with occasional use because doxycycline resistance is already common in many kinds of bacteria. Certainly your body will not "develop a resistance" - that's something the bacteria do, and if you don't have them, they won't do it. Bottom line: As others have said, get a different doctor.
  13. He stated they could be relocated to Jordan and Egypt. Never mind that neither the Palestinians, the Jordanians, nor the Egyptians think that's a good idea. Political differences aside, there were good reasons not to vote for this guy...
  14. Anyone know where this clip is from, or who these guys are? They're smoking hot together...
  15. As opposed to pre-19th century, when epidemics of it were not common, per the "Epidemiology" section of the same web page.
  16. Polio is caused by a virus, and certainly not by agricultural chemicals. We can be certain of the latter because polio was around before agricultural chemicals were invented. Please don't post absurd theories like that (you know who you are); they're against the rules (false statements/conspiracy theories) and I'll have to whack you with the ugly stick. While verifying my facts for this post, I discovered something I didn't know: polio epidemics weren't a thing until modern germ theory and the concomitant rise of sanitation happened. Check out the Wikipedia entry under "Epidemiology" if you're curious. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polio
  17. What I glean from the internet is that prostitution is illegal in Florida, and some authoritarian parties are making a legal argument that pornography production constitutes prostitution because people receive money in exchange for sex. It does not appear that the Florida legislature has specifically addressed the question of pornography production, apart from a "revenge porn" law similar to those in many other states. https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/is-filming-porn-illegal-in-florida-6393610
  18. I'm puzzled by this one because I've never detected fresh Crisco to have any smell or taste at all. Store brand or off label sometimes does, but not to a significant degree. What does have a significant odor in my experience is aged shortening, especially if it has been exposed over time to light, air, and/or warmth. For that reason it is one of the products I'll buy in smaller containers (foregoing the substantial bulk discount).
  19. Just moved over to the west side of Baltimore
  20. For the 2024 election (to which I presume you're referring), this is incorrect. https://www.factcheck.org/2024/11/trump-won-the-popular-vote-contrary-to-claims-online/
  21. About 10 years ago I was living on some family property in the mountains in "the back of beyond" (verrrry rural, dirt roads, almost-but-not-quite off grid). One fine day in the middle of winter (about 6" of snow on the ground) I connected with a guy online who was hot to trot and actually drove out there and we met up on an access road in the state forest. We walked down it a little way and then a few feet sideways into the woods and went at it. He spit-fucked me against a tree. Sooooo hot! I'm not sure what kind of temperature it was (certainly not as cold as -20C, probably more like -5C) but it was enough to button up in a hurry when we were done.
  22. I don't think it has been, as the Regional forums are (mostly) for people who already reside in the region in question. Furthermore, this site is really not much of a hookup site (it's intended to be a discussion site and that is largely what it is). You could post in General Discussion about your whole trip, which might make a fun topic. Or you could post individual legs in the most relevant regional forum - Amsterdam has its own, Iceland could go in Scandinavia (yes, I know that's not precisely right) or in Europe & Russia, and Bahamas, well, yeah, that's tough. Probably UK or Europe/Russia, though a case could be made for Southeastern US.
  23. Thanks to all the suggestions, but especially @ejaculaTe for gayeroticvideoindex, which did the trick! It's from "Drew Sebastian and Denver", TIM (of course), from 2015. One of their promo stills nearly matches my screen shot 🙂
