    "Do I LIKE being POZ"? Well, I would rather be negative for a number of reasons, but I have not let it define me. I don't allow myself to be stigmatized. I don't make it MY PROBLEM, when I experience rejection or other negative behavior from others. Recently ( 4+ months) I've been dating the most wonderful man who just happens to be negative. It's opened up a whole new way of looking at things/life. It's pretty much a non-issue, he has started PreP. I love him for the fact that he didn't let my HIV prevent him from exploring a deeper relationship with me. More people should have this point of view. There is too much emphasis put on "status", and not enough on how we relate to others & ourselves.

    I just returned from a visit with my I.D. Dr with my new (HIV-) BF... we've been dating a few months, something very new to me. We both want to take this thing to next level & he wanted to explore PreP. He is beginning the lab tests etc... I am thrilled to have a guy, who thinks so much for me that he'd go to this length instead of just bailing out !!

    As a "stocky" bear type, you might do better on the Grove side of the rack. I haven't been since 2010, having moved south to Florida. But back a few years, before the Park Rangers were patrolling, any time of day or night was good... I remember taking a break from the midday sun, strolling (trolling?) through THE RACK and getting BRED... returning to the beach with a damp leaky hole to rinse out in the ocean !!     Once again, I am right with you Bear... In my counseling, particularly when I'm at the Bathhouse, I discuss Risk Management with the youngsters and emphasis that the known (HIV+, in treatment & undetectable) is much "SAFER" then the tweeked out number with an essentially unknown status. On a personal note, I've been "dating this awesome HIV - guy... today he expressed wanting to see my doctor and begin the PRE PreP process !!! He doesn't want to loose me... :-)

    I do not have info or experience at the LA clubs, but from my general experience here in Ft Lauderdale (and in NYC) STDs can be rampant... we have had a couple syphilis outbreaks in the last couple years. I've known guys to come away from a night of playing with 2 or even 3 ( a trifecta ). Its the price you pay for BB sex. Personally I have been trying to limit myself to people I know or a couple regular FBs. Good Luck !
