First, getting established in a new city is always hard even without all of this bothering you. It may take several months to two years for you to have the support network you need, so you need to prepare for a long haul. Also names should always be capitalized. Hit the RETURN key every few sentences when your action shifts to a new time or place or activity. That makes it much easier to keep your place when you are reading a large block of text. It's best to put these breaks where a real paragraph ends and begins. The first place I would have put one is between "I didn't know what to do." and "As soon as practice was over, ..."

I think there are two things getting confused in this discussion. First, there is the issue of whether it is acceptable to thwart another person's desire to play safe in a situation where bareback is the norm.
