Key West is a tourist town so the sex available is determined by the day of the week and who happens to be in town. Fort Lauderdale has a huge gay community, many of whom moved there specifically for the sex. It gets a lot of tourists as well, but there is a solid core of residents that are looking to play so it’s much more reliable if you’re looking for a sex vacation.

Just say what you want. Most guys are obliging of such requests. Of course, in a group situation, not every guy that fucks you will want to cum. I’m not good for multiple loads so in a group situation I try and fuck as many guys as possible before I shoot.

Fort Lauderdale is a long established gay sex tourist destination. It has a lot of small, clothing optional hotels, bathhouses and sex clubs. Miami has one gay hotel and a crappy bathhouse. Miami tends to attract a lot of couples. I’m sure they play, but it’s all set up online as sex venues are lame or nonexistent. If you’re a solo traveler and looking for a sex vacation, I’d recommend Fort Lauderdale. If you’re looking to spend some money, Island House in Key West is very nice and a lot of fun, but it’s super expensive and difficult to get to.

You have to acknowledge why (in your heart of hearts) you’re hooking up. Is it pure physical sensation and physical release? Is it to get as much cum in your body as possible? Is it to find a boyfriend? Is it for male bonding? Is it out of boredom and loneliness? Is it to validated from being desired by guys you or society finds attractive? I realized a long time ago that I hookup solely for the validation of attracting hot guys. They don’t have to be Abercrombie models, and I don’t have a particular “type,” but they have to be considered attractive by the general public. As such, glory holes, dark rooms, masks and other anonymous sex does nothing for me. I would rather jack off remembering a hookup with a cute guy.

I started hooking up in college, decades before I had a serious relationship. I remember keeping a Little Black Book for a while, but it was mainly to keep track of people to invite to future sex parties than a comprehensive record of every guy I had sex with. Once you start going to sex parties and bathhouses, establishing a true and accurate account is almost impossible.

People hook up for many different reasons, some of which have nothing to do with getting off. For me, it’s all about the validation I feel from being desired by a guy that I find attractive. As such, I don’t like truly anonymous situations (like masked bottoms or completely dark rooms) or bottoms I’m not attracted to. Did you tell him you’re on PrEP? Most guys that have casual sex with men in major North American cities know about PrEP so there’s nothing much you can do apart from withholding access to your hole unless he’s raw. If he becomes a regular I find that most guys become open to bareback after the third or fourth hookup. -
I was in boarding school in the late 80s and early 90s and never had the opportunity to do anything sexual with other guys. I’m sure everyone knew I was gay, but was never propositioned and too scared to make the first move. That was long before the internet and the ubiquity of porn started showing guys that fooling around with buddy is no big deal. I suspect it’s a lot easier nowadays.

I live in Manhattan and am in the same demographic as the main characters (40-something, affluent, gay professional that enjoys sex parties and experiences the tensions of having a partner who doesn’t). It’s obviously heightened for comedic effect, but it seemed realistic for that very limited demographic, noted above. Obviously the majority of gay men in New York don’t live like that, but some of us do. I didn’t buy the actual sex scenes. The physical geometry of fucking somebody in missionary doesn’t work that way. As two gay men the actors would have known that, but they were probably toning it down for a mainstream audience. However it was nice to hear such frank and explicit dialogue, i.e., a hot masculine guy saying, “I want you to fuck me.”

While not stereotypically effeminate, I definitely come across as metrosexual (e.g., like Will from Will & Grace) and most people outside of a major city would probably assume I’m gay.
