Lets "keep it real" here, black guys are the bottom of the barrel in the gay food chain. Reality is that most white men are NOT into black guys. My years in gay community, I have learned that a lot of white men are very ignorant and their lack of interest in black men is due to that ignorance. Most are quick to say they just do not have a preference for black men. I strongly believe this lack of preference is due to lack of exposure. As a black man, I have found interacting in gay community is nothing but an experience of constant rejection. If I had a quarter for every time I heard "not into blacks." When I was younger, it was beyond hurtful to hear that rejection. When you are 18, 19, 20 and all you want to do is meet people and date and all you hear is, "not into blacks", it is a knife to the chest and I often left bars or logged off online feeling like the ugliest thing in the world. It wasn't until in my late 20s I began to not give a fuck. In college, I went to live in Europe for a year and it was the best experience of my life. I was amazed how race when it came to dating and meeting men was a non issue. There, I had no problems finding dates, hook ups. It was amazing time and what a self esteem boost the experience was. Granted, I knew some of the guys there were only interested in me b/c they wanted to experience a black guy, let alone an American but for the most part, race was not an issue while in Europe.
