Where Are You?

Hey, why is it such a problem, when filling out your profiles, to fill in where you are located?  I don't mind talking to guys in other countries, but would love to know if someone is actually close enough we may be able to hook up sometime.  It is really not that hard to do.  Please fill out where you are at for pete;s sake and save everyone else a lot of wasted time.

   I really think that if location is not filled out, the profile should be held up until it is.  Just my opinion on that.

Anyone not giving location out should state they are NOT looking for hookups then.  Very simple, and doesn't have to be exact address just a country and in this country, USA, a state would be nice.  Make it a lot easier to see who wants to play some and who just wants to look and talk.

Well, at least state which country you are in and if you are in a large country which region. You don't have to mention the town or city. . I don't state my hometown but NL is not very large. You can travel through the whole country in 4 hours :-)

Well, I don't think they have to be exactly specific, like home address or anything like that but would be nice to know if they are close enough to have at least a chance of a hookup if it looks like a nice click together.  I am in central USA,   Iowa to be exact and pretty much center of the state mostly.   I would like to know if someone is in state or a surrounding state as that would mean a good chance of a hookup maybe.  Thought I was going to hookup with a guy I was talking to a while back and our conversation was getting hot and then found out he lived in Australia.   Chances of a hookup= very close to 0.   Had a nice talk and love to talk to anyone but if it gets to the point of possible meet I wouild really like to know ahead of time if it may happen.   Don't want to impose on anyone but just think it is the polite thing to do to at least put something in profile for somewhere?

I think the original poster assumes that people use (or should use) this site to hook up. I don't. I genuinely like being able to see what people are talking about. So I guess that makes me a bit of a voyeur of sorts.  I wouldn't rule out a hook up, but it's the farthest thing from my mind when I log on here to be honest.

 

I have my rotation of guys that I hook up with. And when none of them are available, I choose an escort.

I usually just say, "Where are you?" and mention where I am, if I think I might want to hook up.  

Why not just ask the guy if you're already chatting?

I think he meant that it is very unlikely to hook up with someone if you see that you are in Florida en the other one is in Alaska, just as an example. Changes are you can hook if you see someone is closer to where you live or planning to visit.

It annoys me when posters say things like "guys in this town" or "people in my area" when they give us no clue where that might be. Worst of all are guys who clearly ARE looking to hook up who post poor-me messages about how they are hoping to find people.

 

Otherwise, I don't care whether guys tell us their locale or not.

:)WOW  Opened up a whole can of worms by posting this didn't I?  I just, as I mentioned, think it is the polite thing to do when filling out your profile.  Virtually EVERY site of any kind asks for location, and yes I realize even some want your home address and phone and that crap, which I do think is a bit much.  Just seems like the polite and even decent thing to do, to put at least, in this country, your state anyway.   Like another pointed out, Alaska-Florida,  yeah, not real likely of hook up as that is farther away than many European countries are from each other.  LOL  I just, even in a chat, and yes it can be asked, would like to know where the person is I am talking to.  It would, I think, make for a more interesting conversation, about other things other than sex, like what it is like in someone's area.  I thank everyone for their opinions though and hope everyone has a great day.  By the way if no one has looked,  I am in the U.S.A.  Marshalltown, Iowa.  It is about 50 miles Northeast of Des Moines, the capital of the state.   Thanks again and when filling out your profile, please take the time to at least think about putting an area or country down.
