There’s a thing called the ‘willing suspension of disbelief’ that is necessary for any fiction to succeed in the mind of the reader or viewer, and if the work fails to make it possible for the audience to suspend disbelief long enough to accept the basic premise, the work fails as an illusion of reality.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t buy into the notion that any of these guys on “Broke Straight Boys” are just cash-desperate fully-straight men who have broken down and gone “gay for pay”. There are far, far too many gay and bi guys perfectly happy to pretend to be straight to be in porn, let alone just for some needed cash, for it to be necessary to coerce otherwise reluctant straights. And even if there’s somebody out on the streets trying to lure in such men, those who respond first are naturally going to be the ones who already have some curiosity or inclination.

So I can’t get past my sort of meta-sense that I’m being played by the producers to accept and enjoy what’s obviously pure fantasy bait. I mean, the title itself is barely a step removed from street signs that hawk “Girls! Girls! Girls!” In red-light districts all over the world.

But I can see how some men here (fantasy-prone as they are) could easily just swallow the shill no matter how obviously fake it is just because it offers to play to a fantasy that titillates them, much as guys congregate around dad/son scenarios that have zero possibility of actually involving members of the same family.

Just curious - am I the only one too hard-shelled to buy into this?

Or is there someone here involved in the production of “Broke Straight Boys” who can tell me that I’m totally off base and it’s all completely legit? I’m totally open to being amazed, and frankly it would be refreshing to know that something in this seedy, corrupt area of life is for reals.

Not even for a second .... years ago I ran across that BSB site, watched one for about - (blink) - that long, and that was it.  Maybe it stimulates some guys imagination, and I guess that's ok.

Not mine.

The entire concept of dividing sexual preference into "straight" and "gay" (and maybe "bi") is an absurd oversimplification and also completely ignores the very obvious fact that there are many reasons for people to have sex, with money far from the least of those. So not only don't I buy the premise, I find it meaningless.

I am into pornstar Paul Carrigan. This guy is identified as Straight, but does Gay for Pay?? So may be the odd desperate straight guys do do for money, maybe. To be honest, who cares, if it gets me off, I can buy into it.

Of course I don't buy the story but since when is anyone buying any story that porn tells you? I still enjoy those videos and the models that look like the raunchy young lad from the neighborhood. Gets me hard and that's all that matters to me

And I also believe that CzechHunters is real, too. And Mormon Boys - that’s my favorite! It’s all fantasy, and most of it caters to rather specific “niches.”
Broke Straight Boys is one of those. Their vids do nothing for me for several reasons, the biggest being that it seems to violate it’s own premise - The models obviously look gay.

I had a prepaid Visa gift card that I was given at work and I wanted to support this site so I used it to sign up. Once my account was setup, I logged in and looked at some of the clips, then signed out and never went back. Nothing about it is believable to me and almost as soon as I finished the signup process I thought to myself, "I should have joined Sketchy Sex instead."

I've never believed that the guys were completely (or even partly) straight on that site or most of the other similar ones, e.g., Bait Bus or New York  Straight Men (a couple of guys I met who were/are emphatically gay told me they had made videos for the latter site). Personally, past a certain point (e.g., fantasizing about a particular uncle, some cousins or my childhood psychiatrist 🤣), straight men don't interest me. Probably because I sense no interest from them, which is really not conducive to feeling sexy or sexual or sensual.  My gaydar isn't infallible, no one's is, but if there's no spark and I'm going to have to chase a man...forget about it. In NYC my friends and I have been known to say "Never, ever run after a cab, a bus, a train or a man. There's always another one coming along."

One of my best friends identifies as 100% straight. But when I asked if he’d ever shagged a guy, he shrugged “Oh, sure”. It’s just no big deal to him. Actually, he’s such a tart (everyone calls him the straight version of me - can’t imagine why…🤔) I believe he’d fuck a tree if he was feeling horny enough. But that’s another story. Now I can well believe he’d go “gay for pay” in a porn movie if he really needed the cash. So I don’t find the notion of a straight guy doing it for money if he was desperate wholly implausible. But, as others have said, it would still likely as not be a staged fantasy for the titillation of its intended audience. The films in question are a commodity, probably no more real than the average Hollywood blockbuster - or Slam Rush video. But if the audience enjoys them and buys into the fantasy, good luck to them.

I love that saying!

I believe it on a case by case basis. There's some videos where the guys are flaccid and by the blank look in their face are mentally disengaged.

In fairness, that could apply to many  workplaces most Monday mornings… 😂

On occasion I see some new profile on Grindr and read the Bio, often it is some one trying to make rent or a car payment fin exchange for head. Inevitably the profile disappears shortly never to reapear. I would think that it could be a broke straight guy desperate.
