Personally, I have to disguise myself as a bottom or a top on hookup accounts to get more of a shot at an actual hookup. Ah so basically instead of being seen as jack of all trades verse guys are seen as master of none. I have heard sayings that guys who are verse are really just bottoms in disguise. There is probably a lot of truth in that but I don't think it's everyone. Definitely in my experience guys who say they are verse or pretty great at both roles. Being verse in itself is interesting because sometimes you might either crave more fucking or getting fucked but that might be depending on the person. For me personally it depends on who I'm with that can kinda determine the mood or swing of what position I and the other guy will be in. 

There's probably a lot more that needs to be said about social apps/websites and guys on them in general. But having to disguise yourself as a bottom or top is absolutely crazy. I believe on of mine I say verse/bottom but it's definitely more even verse now. The only bottom aspect is in the demeanor I have with guys who are more Dom but that's obviously not every guy. The position aspect though is versatile. I'm not judging you for having to do that though. Thinking back more I think guys did this often and maybe even myself included but not sure if I did it that frequently. I have seen guys online though both tops and bottoms who will basically have nothing to do with you if you are verse. But i'm not necessarily sure they would give you that much more time of the day if the profile was changed. But again I think that's just more how guys act online which is a completely separate discussion. 

I do feel that overall the guys I've had sex with and the more honest and open I've been about either being verse, uninhibited and more open about what I do seems to lead either to more repeats or just fun experiences overall. That even includes meeting guys at public places stating I'm verse or they are has generally led to more fun. But like you said it could completely depend on the area or city you are in. I do hope that either something changes with the city or area you are in or the guys on the websites/apps (that last part probably won't happen though) where you can be honest about verse and it not impacting you in a negative way.

I've had some decent times with total tops and bottoms,
but the BEST guys I've ever topped or bottomed for were VERS.

Sometimes people develop a preference to one side or the other (and it can change throughout life), but ultimately guys who are free to explore and be explored who know what it feels like on either end and are open to doing many sexual activities are the most fun to engage with personally.

Versatility is and has long been a turn on for me. The best and most active groups and orgies I've ever been to had to have had at least half of the guys switching positions at will. My experience is group scenes don't really work all that well if most of the players are exclusively too or bottom.
