"At the direction of the Trump administration, the federal Department of Health and Human Services and its agencies are purging its websites of information and data on a broad array of topics — from adolescent health to LGBTQ+ rights to HIV.

Several webpages from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with references to LGBTQ+ health were no longer available. A page from the HHS Office for Civil Rights outlining the rights of LGBTQ+ people in health care settings was also gone as of Friday. The website of the National Institutes of Health's Office for Sexual & Gender Minority Research Office disappeared. (Most of these pages could still be viewed through the Internet Archive.)"

Fact checking in private media was censorship, but censoring scientific and historical (they've even started removing things from the NPS visitor information pages) information from government sources is not censorship.

we're going back to third way clinton politics re: DOMA and DADT on lgbt rights, much like how labour went back to blairite policies. the democrats just don't have any teeth to go on the offensive. we lgbt folks are on our own, even with feckless lobbyist organizations like HRC purporting to defending our rights. we need to abandon social media channels and organize like the days of old.

We don’t need another party to push back. We should've pushed back at the ballot box. Can’t tell you how many gays and trans I know that voted against their interests.

There's a lot I don't understand about why this happened, and I simply cannot get my mind around why some of these folks - gays, trans, all the rest - were unable to see what was coming.  Myopia must be far more communicable that any other malady these days.

It is a puzzler.  Then too, I always wondered how a group of people would willingly drink poison in a cult.  I suspect MAGA know they're in peril, and it is the worship of their guy that has them continue to support over their own peril.  

FWIW, I believe we'll get through this, likely somewhat worse for the wear but hopefully with lessons echoing those we had to learn in WW2.  Us humans seem to have this historical penchant to have us relearn our lessons on how to keep a civil society going.

I was a bit worried we would get here.  OK, so it seems like we need to birth an organization here; or find one recently started to participate in.

Probably nothing, as far as he and his administration will think is that it’ll only happen to those they deem undesirable
