 Thanks for those links - the normal alterations in word-meanings through the centuries is an interesting topic.  That said, one term in this thread that I've never heard before (in a sexual context) is "geezer".  I've heard old people describe another old person as "an old geezer", but that's it; don't think I've heard it in decades though.

“Dick” generally just doesn’t sound sexual to me, especially on its own. When used to describe a penis, it sounds kinda boring and limp. And not like “heavy and weighty” limp, like “deflated and shriveling” limp. Occasionally when I’m getting stretched out, gasping and breathless, I will use “huge dick.”

I prefer using “cock,” but I also like “meat,” “tool,” and “pipe.”

As far as ejaculate is concerned, I prefer “cum,” “load,” “nut,” or “semen.”

Looking at word meaning evolution is an interesting topic to me too. Words can connect or divide us since they are a main method of communication.

 i think online interaction has taken communication so many different places, very suddenly in an evolutionary sense?  Just this discussion, between guys from all over the world with often vastly different cultural backgrounds, demonstrates how differently we can all see the same word, how it makes us feel and think. To me, it's a good flag to help us recognize and be conscious of the ever present influence of ethnocentricity.  And, hopefully can help us step back and consider another perspective vs indulging in the superior, isolating attitudes and notions that often come with ego/ethnocentricity.  I.e., actually communicate and connect.

I would say the opposite. "Cock" does have a faint connotation of pride, but "dick" is hard and hostile, as a good erection should be. I dick a bitch down. If someone says that I'm a dick, he means that I'm aggressively obnoxious. I don't actually use either word much, but I don't know of any situation where I would prefer "cock".

Out of curiosity, what should us geezers be calling it? I'm happy to call it whatever they would like as long as I can shove it up their hole or have theirs shoved up my hole.

I'm a geezer and call it cock. I'm more curious to know what the young guys call it nowadays (if they use a different one). I haven't seen any other names so far.
