Hey PozToxVersPig, I’m a molecular biologist, too, and a chemist.  I study environmental DNA, bacteriophage, and retroviruses.  I think  I get even more turned on when I’m getting bred by tops and taking their cumloads, knowing that there’s all this genetic material and proteins being shared by the top. I was actively taking loads yesterday and I was in heat, getting bred while my digital PCR was running behind me at the lab.

My thesis was on the repair of cyclobutene pyrimidine dimers in DNA caused by UVA/UVB exposure by an enzyme called photolyase which leverages UVA/UVB and blue light as its power source to repair the bulges within the double helix...avoiding, ultimately, apoptosis due to fucked up replication.

I also had sex in my lab a lot....until I was lazy, and had left a pipetman with a tip loaded with whatever caustic lysing agent we were using at the time on the bench when the sex started.  All was well until it fell to the ground and the tiny amount of the liquid hit the back of my leg (I was also wearing shorts) .  Quick lab shower later...I still 20+ years later still have a scar on the back of my calf.

And yes, I like knowing how DNA works too when it comes to fucking! 🙂

Can be both.

I met last week with a guy working night shift security. Love a guy in uniform. Stick on a uniform and for some reason makes me want a guy a lot more. I had a lot of fun grabbing his butt and feeling his dick through his work pants, felt good undoing his belt and pulling his pants down to fuck him from behind with my arm around him. Kissing his stubbly neck and feeling his collar on my face. He was a hot very fuckable guy, but for me uniform made things hotter because I have a uniform fetish. But some other guy who doesn't have uniform fetish could meet up, pull his pants down, fuck him like I did and kiss his neck, have fun, but not feel the same way I did. So same thing, different experience. It's an activity when you do it, it's a fetish when you see it as the thing you really want, when it's something you daydream about it when you think about a guy.

That’s some awesome science you were working on for your thesis.  My work is looking at fecal bacteria/i.e. shit, and it’s different sources-wetter from humans, dogs, cattle, birds, other wild animals and trying to determine extent of environmental contamination in watersheds.  A retrovirus that’s a good source indicator from humans is something that I can detect using digital PCR.  This RNA virus is in people’s shit and usually no other animal sheds it, it’s unique to humans and in high concentration with a long survival period. It doesn’t rapidly degrade outside the body like HIV.  It’s some interesting work. It’s hella fun using my lab space to host breeding sessions.  I just got to be careful to not introduce foreign DNA into my experiments…but I use my ass to collect those loads and store them all day while I work.  I did have a puddle of cum under my ass after yesterday’s last top finished. I got down and licked it up, hoping I did t lick up any chemicals that could have spilled, but whatcha gonna do when there’s cum on the floor…got to clean it up and why not with my tongue. It was delicious.

I am fantasizing over the handsome security guard at my lab. He’s been there a year now and I melt every time I see him pass by. I’d love both more than to ride his cock and take his cum regularly.  I can’t tell if he’s into guys.  He looks like a macho Latino, muscular and fills out his uniform so well.  I’ve got to try and take his cock this year, if he’s down for that sort of thing. I hope so.

This was a long time ago and I no longer do lab work like that.  And honestly, it was the worst thesis subject in the world, because we studied it in multiple species of amphibian eggs in their natural habitats (mothers embed endogenous photolyase within the eggs when they are lain, which dissipates over the course of the first four days, until the tadpole begins producing their own).  All of that is to say I had to climb in to remote parts of main mountainous areas where we had our collection sites to collect eggs every day for weeks at a time before doing the lab work.  Hated that part.

I love how we're being lab [banned word]. 🙂

When HIV arrived, we weren't even able to be in rooms openly socializing with each other.  To have community was impossible, so it was boiled down often to sexual encounters which, were "safer" in the sense that they maintained anonymity, could be done quickly, and without disrupting our likely heteronormative lives.

As one of the older members on here … who moved to Boston in the late 70s … I was able to experience gay life before AIDS …. And then early days… peak epidemic to early cocktails to today

now I can only speak for Boston … but I would disagree that AIDS made community “impossible” if anything it made the community stronger… tighter, snd far more politically active… none of the  bars closed…. We still all went out to bars snd restaurants (what closed the bars was not AIDS but the apps like grinder)

So now we have HIV and the government, which has treated gay men so badly, not recognized their relationships, not defend them against police action, wrongful terminations, insurance denials, etc. is now ALL UP IN OUR BUSINESS telling us "SAFE SEX ONLY" and "USE A CONDOM ALWAYS" - and running campaigns that if I had seen at the time, I would have thought "who the fuck are you to tell me this?"  Not only that, but gay men had a freedom they didn't with heterosexual sex.  There was no risk of pregnancy.  Now the government was saying "you can't have that anymore.  we don't care about you and we don't acknowledge you or your rights as a gay man, but we insist you use a condom because AIDS."

I would disagree with this …. It was not the government that was sponsoring the “always use a condom” campaigns …. The government didn’t care …. It was community groups and local nonprofits… I think every city had one … in Boston is was AIDS Action - for NYC history watch Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart.  And of course Act Up.

and I would say that it was more than “Some portion started using condoms”

At least in Boston I think the vast majority of us did …. I never heard of guys who refused to use condoms because “the government told them to” (unlike he Covid I never knew any AIDS “deniers”) there were of course lots of guys who didn’t use condoms every time. Some just because they just got caught up in a hot scene and forgot, or because they hooked up at a bar …. After a few too many drinks and do were too drunk to remember …..or the condom broke.

and then after a few years… there was a certain amount of  “safe sex” fatigue….. there were a lot of groups that worked really hard to try and make using condoms “erotic” and sexy, even kinky…. But let’s face it …. Condoms are not sexy

which brings us back to “fetish or sexual practice” …..  today with PReP and hiv meds …. It is so easy to have condomless sex as just normal everyday sex …( the way it should be) …… but it can, also easily be fetishized….. if the guys approach it that way

oh …… also I think the big difference between AIDS and Covid is that it took years of protests for the drug companies and government to do anything …. While with Covid it is amazing how fast they moved to create a vaccine. - and too bad that it was politicized- again only speaking for Boston here … but it was the gay guys at the head of the line saying “I’ll take the vaccine”

and then when Monkey Pox started here in Ptown and Boston it was gay guys …. Remembering AIDS that lined up demanding to get the  vaccine

What does this mean? Do you think there were no bars or clubs or house parties or social or political organisations in 1981? Or even 1971, when the virus likely started spreading among homosexuals in Western countries?

Back at that time, people didn’t know it was spread sexually. So it was considered a PANDEMIC.

I think above all else it’s a sexual practice first and foremost. It can be fetishized but that goes for just about anything.

I don't think of breeding guys asses as a "fetish"  -  for us, it's simply the way we have sex.

Sure, when hiv came along, it was either bag it or else.  But the treatments came, we took them, and kept on fucking the natural way, just as we always have.

It is very simply that. I lost my virginity bareback to a couple (lol I was destined to be a whore) but it just felt right and the incredible feeling of skin on skin and the cum inside me. Sometimes I feel a condom on a dick fucking me and it feels bad, rough, and disconnected. Bareback fucking and breeding to me is not a fetish it’s just how we are wired to fuck and share DNA and connection.

Well said.  Nothing difficult to understand.

For Tops, sharing our dna with other guys is totally natural, emotionally healthy, and sexually thrilling.  Even better, the more we do it the more we need to do it.  If anything about raw fucking is addictive, it's because there's no better way to connect with our brothers than to fuck/get fucked - particularly in a group setting.  One to one is great, but a crowd of men breeding each other is fan-fukkin-tastic.

I didn’t read all posts carefully, so I guess I won’t say something new. I can imagine and accept that bareback is a fetish to someone.
But for me it’s the natural form of sex. I think people can decide on using condoms because of several reasons but safe sex is unnatural.
I can’t imagine fucking with condoms anymore. Furthermore, I wouldn’t enjoy sex if I was fucked with condoms and I can’t fuck wearing this.
I need the skin on skin feeling and also the jizz inside me. I’m just absorbing two dozes right now and I never would change this feeling to a safe fuck.

My partner claims bareback sex is a sexual practice and not a fetish. I believe it can be a fetish, and for me, it's the most important one. What's your opinion?

don't you mean your partner believes it to be a health choice while you consider it a kink?

imho "im on the pill" is a health choice, while "i like to be on top" is a sex practice. "i like to risk getting pregnant or pozzed by not using precaution" seems more a kink, while "i get turned on by jockstraps" seems more a fetish.

either way... only unprotected sex could possibly count as a kink/fetish for some ie "i get off on the possible danger or repercussions to my carelessness". Calling condom-less sex while on birth control or prep a kink/fetish seems a wild overstatement of silly proportions. so i dont agree that barebacking itself can be seen as anything other than just plan sex.

I view this question as a false dichotomy.  It doesn't have to be an either/or, it can be a "yes, and."  Barebacking is just having sex for me, and for most folks on here and many out and about in the world.  Whether Prep, chasing, U+, Toxic, or any other variation on the theme, a lot of us fuck without the thought of a condom even entering the conversation.  I know personally I've not bought condoms, picked up a free condom, had a sexual partner use or indicate the use of a condom, etc. in well over a decade, the thought of having penetrative sex that isn't bareback isn't even a thing in my mind.  So barebacking is sex.

At the same time, there are absolutely guys out there who get off on breeding, and have fetishized the injection of semen into a receptacle hole.  Whether it's toxic tops looking to knock up neg holes; whether it's dirty talking about getting the bottom pregnant and shooting seed deep into the bottom; whether it's gamifying sex by tracking loads given or bottoms bred; or some other means, some tops breed as a fetish beyond merely having sex.  And just as much, some bottoms are getting off on the flip side of the tops (be it chasing, impregnation, gamifying load taking, etc).  Cumdumping, e.g., is fetishizing barebacking by collecting tons of loads.

So I think it's both, and it just depends on the person which one predominates.

As someone who came of age in the mid to late 80's it still feels like a fetish to me. I can only imagine the freedom the guys coming of age in the last few years have been able to experience. While it certainly didn't prevent some of us from having a lot of sex it definitely put a damper on things.
