yup. you also said you moved to berlin, and judging by your english are you an expat? Another round about way of getting truvada for PrEP is getting the genaric version from india. I dont know if they ship to germany, but if you know someone in the US who could forward it to you, that would be an option. #400 for six months isnt bad at all. http://www.northdrugstore.com/buy-Truvada.html

There is no easy way to qualify risk on this particular situation. In terms of his viral load it really depends when he was last tested. Viral load spikes way high at initial infection, then goes back down to a much lower level on its own even without treatment. If he was infected a year ago his viral load is probably relatively low. If it was a month ago, its gonna be high. There isnt much you can do right now. Its says you are in san fran, and any clinic should be able to do a viral load test, which actually detects the virus, not just the antibodies. You can try and ask for that. I would try that in about a week. I doubt this will put your mind at ease, but your risk at its highest is probably something like 2-10% HIV is relatively hard to transmit, even in higher viral load situations. There are lots of people that have unprotected sex all the time with poz guys and dont get it. I had a friend whose BF tested poz. My friend was the bottom, and had been getting fucked by him at least once a week for a few months when he found out, and he didnt get it. It all depends.

Should I bareback my friend's 19 year old son?
wood replied to Tommy Tank's topic in Making The Decision To Bareback
Exactly. I wouldn't do it. -
bingo. If I knew I wasnt going to have sex for a few months I may go off it, but in general I am going to stay on it. Right now, dating a poz undetectable guy, its smart to be on it. Right now I dont see myself going off it anytime soon. Also while Truvada is a strong medication, its side effect profile is very low. Infact its significantly lower than many everyday medications including cholesterol drugs. tylenol, and every everyday drugs. Acetaminophen for example is MUCH more dangerous than Truvada. http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/16/health/acetaminophen-five-facts/

you got to relax dude. I know its early, but stuff like a family is a none issue. There are PLENTY of ways to safety get a girl preggo with your nut. PrEP is just one way. Also you are probably feeling physically down because of the mental stress. Never under estimate what mental stress can put on your body. And really just sit back, have a cocktail, and smile. As silly as it sounds, this is a bump in the road. People go through a lot worse all the time. You are still healthy, and will be as long as you take the right steps. HIV will NOT keep you from your goals, as long as you dont let it.

Can you change your handle?

can you change me to "wood" and if that isnt avalable to "hwood" -
Well to be it sounds like you always knew this would be the end result, which is why its not such a shock that it happened. Putting your ass up and collecting random cum is a pretty surefire way to eventually become HIV+ Also by your blog you seem to like black men, same here, but gay black men also have an HIV infection rate of close to 50%, and that doesn't count unknown cases. So with those odds it was almost certainly going to happen eventually. When was your last test before this? As far as going forward, you need to see an HIV specialist, and most likely its a good idea to start treatment asap. Its the best way to keeping long term health. As far as your "crash and burn" idea, well it depends on the person. The initial numb reaction is very common, and the way most people process it at first. That can change later, and some people do have strong reactions. you may, you may not. Only you will know.

Love BB sex - hate the STD's...any advice?
wood replied to billybtm's topic in HIV/AIDS & Sexual Health Issues
From a medical standpoint that's about the worst thing someone can do. Misuse of antibiotics is one of the main reasons we are seeing so many antibiotic resistant bacteria now. That is a real scary issue, because scientists are having a hard time with some of the new bacteria strains that are out right now, and there isn't many products in the pipeline to fix that. LOL that reminds me about 7 or 8 years ago when I was seeing a poz undetectable guy. I would fuck him raw, but I would make him wear a condom. He loved when I nut in him, but wanted to do it to me. He then told me, its okay, just use the shower hose to rinse it out after. Needless to say that advice was not taken. Too bad PrEP wasn't available then.. it wouldn't have been an issue! haha. -
Pretty much. Billions of dollars have been spent on HIV research over the past 30 years, and we are still at the treatment phase. I would *love* to see a vaccine, but I don't know how realistic it is. Also from what I can gather about what they are trying to do, They are trying to recreate the natural immunity that a small group has. I get that, however even those people are not immune from HIV, it is just MUCH harder for them to acquire it. A real vaccine is 99-100% effective in preventing infection, even with large amounts of exposure. The best that we have seen so far is roughly 60% effective, and its effectiveness declines quickly with time, so after a year its useless. http://www.hivresearch.org/research.php?ServiceID=13 Dont get me wrong I welcome all efforts to end the epidemic and hope at some point we really see something come to fruition. IMO I think that will happen within 10 years. With gene therapy and the continued research into how HIV functions on a cellular level I think that there is a real shot at a cure or vaccine, but its still going to take time, and I have severe doubts it can come from a group with crowd sourced funding, even if they are at top schools. The trials alone for vaccines take years and millions of dollars. Also, before anyone bring up the "big pharma will never do it" argument, thats false. Big pharma makes (relatively) little off HIV medication, and what they do make is usually at inflated costs from US programs. With the US, and the rest of the world demanding cheaper and more socialized medicine, the writing is on the wall that extreme drug costs relative to other nations will not last forever. HIV is one of those things that Big pharma would LOVE to rid the world of. Yes there would be a short term profit loss, but they could refocus research on more profitable drugs, and there would also be the amazing publicity that they all somehow had a hand in ending AIDS.

I really hope you are joking. STD's are awful dude, and HIV is a lifetime of drugs and checkups at best and death at worst. what is a turn on about that. bare sex is hot, and guess whats even more hot? bare sex without STD's where you fuck like rabbits, and don't need to go to the doctor after. -
Im gonna let you in on a little secret that I found out about when visting chicago this summer. On saturday there is a monthly party called "mens room" you should get there by midnight and it goes to 3 or 4. Its like a cross between a bathhouse and a dark dance club. You have to take your shirt or pants off to get in the door. and there are plenty of people sucking and fucking at any given point. In many case after mens room people will go to steamworks. http://mensroomxxx.com/info.html there is also jackhammer, steamworks, and mans country. Jackhammer may be a bit dead this time of year.

Citations please. I don't mean to be rude, but the problem with stuff like this is that it gives people false hope. In 1984 when the virus was first isolated they said there was going to be a cure. When the first vaccine trials showed promise, they said they was going to be a vaccine within a few years. HIV is a BITCH to get ride of because it hides in many places in the body that have very slow cell replication rates, and thus it cant be cleared. So unless you are biochemist, MD with an EXTENSIVE knowledge about how drugs, cellular replication, and gene therapy work, I wouldn't post stuff like that. Again not being rude, but you should prove your point, not just make a blanket statement. In fact the closest thing that we have to gene therapy right now is bone marrow transplants, and two patients that received them in hopes of a cure both relapsed. http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/relapse-of-cured-hiv-patients-disappoints-aids-scientists-but-adds-to-their-knowledge/2014/01/06/eb550fec-73b5-11e3-9389-09ef9944065e_story.html

Love BB sex - hate the STD's...any advice?
wood replied to billybtm's topic in HIV/AIDS & Sexual Health Issues
LOL that wont do a thing, and could be potentially dangerous. You don't want those kind of chemicals anywhere near your ass. Really there is not a lot you can do if you are going to the baths and playing raw. You are gonna get stuff. While its far from foolproof, If I were you I would try to put together some fuckbuddies. The fewer the better in terms of bareback sex, but well that cant always happen. Hate to say it, but baths are dirty, and the people are dirtier. Out of curiosity what are your cd4 numbers like? if they are low, you may want to see what else you can do to boost those. Getting STD's is tied closely to immune response. If you have a great immune system even if you are exposed to an STD you stand a lesser chance of catching it. -
22yo Missouri student exposed 30+ partners to HIV and filmed it
wood replied to njverscumdump's topic in General Discussion
Agree with almost everything you said. However there is a few things. I am surely not passing complete judgement at this point, but shoddy journalism not withstanding, it is fairly clear that the guy knew, and I am sure that turned up in the 5 month investigation. I doubt this would even be a story if he was sobbing, weeping, just diagnosed and didnt know himself. That would be sad, not a news story. For me, I identify with both sides, Im dating a poz guy, I have slept with poz men who didnt tell me, but I'm negative. Some have their reasons for not disclosing but none are justified, at least in my case. Disclosure is the key word in this case, and from what we know right now, that exactly what didn't happen. IMO, When it comes to blame its about 75/25 percent blame perpetrator to victim. For the victims, they failed to take the step of complete verification, and or using more protection methods. Not that either is 100% but in this game nothing really is. However that doesn't negate the fact that the onus is on the HIV+ person to provide disclosure, and it appears Mr Johnson decided not to do that. On a tangent, this is also a good example of why I hope PrEP use becomes really widespread. Condom use among gay men is at roughly 50% and it has been about the same all the way from the 70's to today. If we are serious about stopping HIV we cant just rely on condoms, or changing behaviors because it hasn't worked. There should always be disclosure, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't protect yourself in anyway you can. -

wood replied to njverscumdump's topic in General Discussion
No, just bad journalism. The facts of the case are the facts. With this case there was a five month investigation before the story broke, the authorities seem to have done their due diligence on the case, and from every article I have read, it is VERY apparent Mr. Johnson knew he was HIV+ and did nothing to warn partners, or use any type of barrier protection in the cases mentioned. Here's a better article with more explanation: http://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2013/12/03/ex-indy-wrestler-accused-of-exposing-men-to-hiv/3863587/ There is also this bit from the article which makes it clear what Mr Johnson is facing. While many will disagree with me, this sort of case is why I still agree with many of the laws regarding HIV transmission. Should the other people have been more careful of course, but that doesn't give Mr Johnson the right to knowingly expose someone else to HIV. There is nothing to indicate that these encounters were a no questions asked bathhouse type situation. In those cases, it is much harder to make a case for prosecution. But when people ask questions, and get lies that cause an infection, that is an issue. HIV is obviously very manageable these days, but it can cause a huge financial burden, especially in people in the US in higher income brackets. Where I really disagree is in sentencing. I bet even with a good lawyer he is looking at ten years in prison, and IMO, that is useless. However US sentencing guidelines are often really screwy. -
I used to despise poppers until I met my current guy. I had tried them years ago and found they gave me a headache. Being that I get migraines occasionally anyway I always stayed away. With my current guy, He would use them, and I didnt care. One night I was drunk and he was about to fuck me, so I just said what the hell and sniffed them. Lets just say I really liked them, and damn it made everything feel good. I have no idea what brand he had, but I didn't get a headache. I know the standard "rush" brand gives me a headache, so it wasn't those. Just because its the way I am I did some research on them, and found they are basically harmless. The biggest risk is accidentally inhaling some of the liquid which can be dangerous, but mostly just very uncomfortable. I still find them a bit silly, but they can enhance the experience. As far as the supposed muscle relaxation effect, that's somewhat of a myth. Its kind of true, but last only a few seconds at best. one question, where do you guys get them and how much do you pay? They have been scare where I live, and am curious.

More than that, just dont do drugs, especially meth. And by drugs I dont mean weed, alcohol, poppers, etc. There i no quicker way to fuck up your health than by doing drugs. A lot of the people who start, cant stop, and end up not only ending up with other diseases, but also neglecting their HIV treatment, and in some cases become resistant. Hep C + HIV can be a real bitch, and you would be amazed how many people that do meth end up with hep C. Getting tested often for other STI's is also a must. I'm neg, and I go every three months for a full panel just because I don't want any of that shit. If you bareback, something eventually will happen, but the key is catching and treating anything that happens. Also, you are at the age now where you want to start getting anal pap smears. This checks for abnormalities that can turn into anal cancer. If caught early anal cancer is treated fairly easy, but its a big deal if it progresses. My friend who tested HIV+ this year, developed an early stage of anal cancer within the 6 months after testing poz, and when his immune system was low. However because they caught it early it was a quick inpatient procedure with a laser.

1) It is extremely rare at this point that you wont find a treatment that will work for you. Realistically you will be put on something like stribild, complera or atripla, and have a good response, most people do. I had a few friends test positive this past year, and all went on a single pill regimen, and had a great response. 2) You WILL be able to find a plan that you can afford, no question. There are enough programs out there, that you will find one that works, dont worry about it. 3) Thats your decision for now. The guy Im dating right now is poz/undetectable. He just told his mother before xmas this year, and he was infected 5 years ago. It does take time, dont worry about that right now. Eventually you probably will tell them just to get it off your chest, but that comes in time. 4) shouldn't be an issue. The PEP drugs would have been well out of your system by then, thus there would be no chance of hiv resistance to them. 5) only a real concern if you are not on treatment. On treatment the chance of reinfection with another subtype is rare. Its only really seen in people not on treatment, and with very low cd4 counts.

when I used to do counseling one of the biggest complaints/fears/regrets of guys was not confronting the person who had infected them. There was two ways people dealt with this. They brooded over it for years, or they confronted the person about it quickly. While this isn't for everyone, that was my experience.

Anyone take 10 inches or more of dick? How did it FEEL?
wood replied to a topic in General Discussion
I kind of have to wonder how much of this is really true. Dont get me wrong, I know that really large dick's are out there, but I cant see the being that common. Also almost everyone over estimates size, be it their own or someone elses. A REAL 12" dick for example would probably go close to the knee's or nipples of a 6 foot tall guy if he was erect. -
One other thing you should do, and it wont be comfortable or easy is tell the person who probably gave it to you. As long as he is the only one, you just have to suck it up and make the call. (Have a drink or two first) I know you said it was off craigslist in a prior thread, so hopefully you have a number, if you dont do a quick search and see if he is posting recently. You never know, he may have lied, but he may have actually thought he is neg, and may be spreading it to more people, and IMO I would want to stop that.

Hang in there dude, everything is gonna be fine. Its a bump in the road, but you are gonna have a normal happy life. As long as you don't let it, HIV wont control you, you will control HIV. Dont even bother with a GP for HIV advice, you said you are close to NYC in northern jersey, so there should be a lot of options for you. A quick search yielded these results. http://www.smithcenternj.org/ http://www.newarkema.org/ one quick hint, go for the places that say ".org" they are non profit, and likely to be free or little cost. Stay away from planned parenthood for this also just because many of the centers dont have as much experience in HIV. Im a big proponent of starting treatment early so I would go see someone as soon as possible. its not a MUST, but current research suggests the quicker you start treatment the better, and the less damage the virus does to your bosy. Any other questions or concerns just ask!

22yo Missouri student exposed 30+ partners to HIV and filmed it
wood replied to njverscumdump's topic in General Discussion
I agree that the "victims" share some responsibility, simply because they did agree to have bareback sex with a person they do not know well. However that doesn't negate the point that "tiger" actively lied about his status, while having sex without protection. In the eyes of the law that is the issue. Its like driving drunk, you may make it home 99% of the time no problem. However if you get caught, or have an accident and kill someone its your fault because you didn't do your part to stop a potentially risky behavior. Everyone should do their part to protect themselves, and IMO, most likely all of the victims should have done more. However, none of that changes the fact that the guy knowingly exposed the partners to HIV without telling them. It sucks, and its a tough conversation for an HIV+ person to have but the law is VERY clear that in these situations, it is required that the person discuss their HIV+ status. He didnt, and he lied. (again this is all based on what is known so far)
