    I talk from personal experience, got chlam infection that crawled back through the urethra into the ball sack and turn into a pyocele, which made my balls be 5x the normal size, completely swollen and extremely bothersome and concerning.     does any one have any idea what's the best time to take doxyPEP? From the SF study all they say is the next 72 hours.. but that feels too long. Also for some reason, I think there's a 'too early' period to take it, like right after fucking. I'm just doing next day but I wish there was more info on when its the optimal time.

    BBing per-se doesn't dramatically increase your chances of catching something. If you look at the stats people get bacterial stuff in the bum about ~66% while oral is the rest. So BBing will 3x your chances versus oral only without a condom, which is about the same order of magnitude. What does matter is the number of people you hook up with which barebackers tend to have high numbers of.

    I guess it's not my/our imagination reading all these how much of nosedive the apps/sites have taken in the last 5 years or so.     I do a bunch of cumunions and sadly between the pandemic+MPX things are still not where they were before. Way less turnout these days than pre march-2020 where we had picked up a really nice pace in most venues. Hopefully things will come back finally getting into 2023.     We have to welcome a new cruising bar in Barcelona right in the middle of the gay area called Men Factory.     Keller on the "Butt fucker" event is probably the best what Paris has to offer in terms of BB action. Truly unfettered raw fucking everywhere. Vault139 is alright mon and thrus, but still packs lots of picky people and tons of others that couldn't fuck a paper bag if their life depended on it. While vault is acceptable Backstreet was just where it was at for me, specially on Sunday. Super friendly crowd with very few bystanders. Where's everyone going now?

    vault139 is very mixed. Like literally everything for everyone. At the same time it can be bit clickish with a bunch of folks with the "blue prince" syndrome. But many nights things just unfold and everyone is fucking everybody else which is great. Specially mon and thurs.

    I'm pretty sure the UK is doing PCR (gono & Chlamydia) for anal, mouth and dick samples. But better just to ask. You are behind swabbed in mouth,ass and dick? Dick can be done with "first catch urine" too. Slightly less sensitive sample but so so much comfortable for the patient.

    This is really not true for PCR testing of Chlamydia and gonorrhea. These two will turn PCR + very early on in the samples if there's infection. I've seen/experienced as early as 2-3 days. At the week mark you are guaranteed a PCR + if infected. You are sampling the bug directly. it's not like it's hiding anywhere and PCR is very sensitive. Very true for all sorts of other testing: HIV 4th gen ab+antigen= starting at 2 weeks HIV PCR= starting at 1 week Syphilis RPR/VDRL ~month Gono/chlam ab testing/culture test = useless. But yeah, if you are gonna test them all in one go and there are no symptoms better wait at least a month.

    It's pretty clear Apretude (injectable PrEP) is not as effective as daily oral PrEP (Truvada or Descovy) for people with good adherence. There are clear breakthrough cases in the studies, and there's no question whatsoever about adherence with injectable. Daily oral PrEP, if subject can adhere to regimen is really 100% protective with extremely rare breakthrough cases. So the TLDR; if you can take a pill a day efficacy is higher with oral. For the bunch of people of the population when daily adherece is a problem or not desired, injectable still offers very high protection.

    Vaccinated people can't spread the disease. It contains a version of the vaccinia virus (same family as monkeypox and smallpox), that while live can't replicate, thus can't infect other cells or others.

    I've had gono many times. I'd say about 50% of the time is asymptomatic. In the mouth is very mild but you get a bit of a scratchy throat. In the bum just feels like your hole is not normal and feels like puckering up all the time (clam feels the same). In the dick usually you may get a white discharge.
