Agree w/Kazore. As Tricare is a health insurance program for members of the military and their families developed and paid for by the Government, Truvada (as a PrEP) should be covered. Yup buddy, as Sea mentiond and you stated, you need to go on PrEP as soon as your PEP treatment is completed. If you have not yet dicussed it w/your doc, do so right away so that all the required blood tests can be initiated after you finish w/PEP. You definitely need to have been on PrEP for at least 1-2 weeks before you make another Cum Union visit. Been on PrEP for 5 months w/no side affects. Haven't been to Cum Union here in the SF Bay Area yet (will get there sooner than later) but definitely wanted to be on PrEP before I get real piggy (Mmmmmmm....). For those following the PrEP discussion it cumms as no surprise that Michael Weinstein and the AHF, which he heads, are once again trashing PrEP. Weinstein and the AHF have been anti-PrEP from the very beginning. He and his organization have NO credibility on this issue! As all of the above posters have stated, PrEP is designed to be taken daily (I take mine every morning with my coffee). While it is NOT claimed to be 100% effective (somewhere in the high 90s), PrEP failures to date (as documented in numerous scientific studies all over the world) are a result of non-adherence to the need to take it daily. Think birth control in women. For those of us who bare fuck, PrEP is the best protection we have from HIV.

Yup, PrEP can get expensive over time, and so can food, gas for your car, coffee and smokes. It's called living. As far as PrEP's side effects are concerned, I've been on it for 5 months and counting with no side effects. I take it every morning when I get up along with my cup of coffee. If you are bottoming with a lot of guys youy NEED to find a clinic/doctor who will prerscribe PrEP and get on it ASAP or eventually you will test poz. If your doc or his/her nurse seems anti-PrEP YOU need to find another doc! As far as your age is concerned, it sounds like we are similar in age...so what. HIV doesn't care about your age. Lastly, you seem to argue against every suggestion that has been made....although you originally asked for feedback/recommendations. If you are hell bent on getting pozed, then go for it..or take the time and effort to protect yourself. -
